Psychopathic Records releases the 2017 Psypher: “If We Were A Gang”

Today, Psychopathic Records followed through with their promise of releasing the 2017 Psypher titled “If We Were A Gang”!  The 9+ minute track features verses from every artist on Psychopathic Records including:

  • ABK
  • Lyte
  • Shaggy 2 Dope
  • Big Hoodoo
  • Blahzay Roze
  • DJ Clay
  • Violent J

Fun fact: the “club” scene where they’re all wearing red hoodies completed shooting just minutes before we conducted our interview with ICP!  I’m somewhere in that crowd of ninjas.

Now, make sure to check out the psypher here:

Also, a ninja named Joshua hit us up because he noticed that the beat used in the Psypher sounded very familiar.  He sent me the link to the 1990 Boogie Down Productions/KRS-One track: “Love’s Gonna Get Cha”.  Check it out for yourselves:

It was only one little line from VJ. After all the sly disses from Twiztid over the years this is nothing, yet everyone seems offended by it! If anything ICP should address the issues more, like Twiztid like to do.
Don’t get me wrong I love Twiztid as well, but they’re always making little jabs and disses at ICP. Least VJ in this track makes it obvious who he’s on about!
Though the whole thing was awesome. Best I’ve heard in from the Psychopathic crew in a long time. Hope this is the standard for PSY in 2017!
Just my opinion, but I love it :)

Damn this was better than what I had envisioned. Lyte is impressing me a little bit more, to where I’m kinda wanting to hear what his debut album will sound like. Can’t wait for F.T.F.O.M.F. to drop in 3 months and 5 days. Hope they also follow through with the promise of new music from everyone on the label in 2017.

That’s what I’m talking about. PSY finally FEELS hungry again. I love that old school sound. Clearly rocking the Loves Gonna Get Ya, which is still a favorite KRS track, and going back to real hip hop with the samples. The Ice-T and COC shit had me on the fucking ropes. My only criticism is y’all shoulda let Clay, Shaggs, and Carlito get an individual scratch break on this piece. If this is how 17 is going to start, in the immortal words of Big HooDoo, GIVE IT LIFE!

Not bad at all. This is actually the first of these I’ve ever taken the opportunity to listen to, and it exceeded my expectations. I’m loving how J and Shaggs are sounding these days, feeling a Jeckel Brothers/1999 vibe totally. Good stuff. \m/\m/

Cant help but wonder how Twiztid would have sounded on that…. Besides that Lyte killed it probably the best lyricist on PSY right now. And thats also the best verse I’ve ever heard from Big DooDoo… ummm HooDoo I mean. Hoping PSY can re establish themslf as an underground powerhouse but its going to take more than that current line up. Lyte is definitely a good start.

So dope. Blahzay fits the bad bitch character 100% and just doesnt need to play a victim all the time for real. I bet she could do great things with some fire instead of salt!!! This was dope as fuck. All of them went together so well in their own ways, 2017 in heavens beam!

Damn! That was pretty tight…I really liked ABK’s verse – it has been long time since I have liked any kind of verse from him (ABK). They always rap better when it comes from the hart (of being pissed). I give it 8.5 out of 10. I just do not care for Big Hoodoo’s verse.

this is great! i love this and this is the most positive vibe and lineup for psychopathic records i really like all the artists and the song is super. psychopathic records should get 1 more female artist on the label ‘the real Kotton Kandi from canada.her music is awesome and her style and persona is totally different than blahzay roze and then there would be 2 girl rappers on psychopathic for the fans who like different kind of styles. but anyways i am really loving this video and song!
