Mike E. Clark’s Funhouse Studio For Sale!

Any of you ninjas have a bit of extra chedda and are interested in owning a major piece of Mike E. Clark & ICP’s history? This post might not be for collectors though.

Mike E. Clark is selling his Funhouse Studio and home right now for $260,000!

It’s a 1700 square foot home located in Sterling Heights in a nice peaceful neighborhood on a corner lot. It includes a beautiful professional recording studio (of course), as well as a client lounge area, 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a living room, a dining room, an updated kitchen and a 2 car garage.

The home and studio was built by Detroit based record producer and musician Gary Spanolia in 1984. Believe it or not, the Beverly Hill Cop II soundtrack was recorded here.

After recording The Great Milenko with the Insane Clown PosseMike E Clark bought this amazing home and studio from Gary Spanolia in 1999 and moved his “Funhouse Studio” in and continued working on the next ICP album “The Amazing Jeckel Brothers.” Mike also did projects here with Twiztid, Kid Rock’s (All Summer Long), Uncle Kracker and many others.

“This is one of the best sounding control rooms I have ever been in” – Mike E. Clark, owner

A few observations after reading the “official listing” are that it is being sold by his merch shop, the photographs suggest that the studio is being sold furnished with all the pictured gear and equipment, gold records and plaques, and furniture. If this is accurate, the asking price of 260K is actually not bad.
Was anyone else surprised that most of ICP’s best work was recorded in a basement? It is fun to imagine at some point they were driving over to this neighborhood to record.
If anyone is considering this purchase, I know I am, here is how it would break down at standard terms:
    20% aka $52,000 down, $577.00 per month for a 30 year mortgage.
I hope a fan buys it!

After talking to Mike’s manager, sounds like nothing is going to stay in place. They are just showing what it currently looks like.

Also, I’m pretty sure your numbers are off. You’re not taking the finance charge into consideration. Even at a modest 3.92% (current rate), the $260K with zero down is $1229 a month. Still doable, but just didn’t want you to have your hopes up.

thought that seemed kinda low. also thought it really unlikely that all that shit was thrown in. ive never known anybody that sold a house furnished. not many businesses, either.
you might have a future as a realtor, there, scottie.
