The Untold Truths About Juggalos according to Ranker.com

Over at Ranker.com, they have put together another list about Juggalos, as they seem to really be fascinated with us.  This time, the article tells us “The Untold Truths About Juggalos: What It Really Means To Be ‘Down With The Clown’.”  Don’t worry though, the article mainly focuses on the positive aspects about being a Juggalo, and talks about the Juggalo March and our case against the FBI.

There are some familiar faces in the article including my homies the SCRUBS!  Check the intro portion below:

From Ranker.com:

Fans of the Detroit rap-duo known as the Insane Clown Posse are infamous for their elaborate clown makeup and their rowdy behavior at concerts. Known as Juggalos and Juggalettes, these people have managed to build an entire community around a single band, and that community has developed a rather poor reputation among mainstream Americans. In 2011, Juggalos were officially designated as a “loosely-organized hybrid gang” by the FBI, further solidifying their unsavory rep. Because of their overwhelmingly negative portrayal in the media, a lot of Juggalos feel like their eccentric family is being misrepresented.

The truth about Juggalos is that they are nowhere near as psychopathic as their musical tastes and clown makeup suggests. They are people like anyone else, and they’ve managed to foster a community of love and family that is seemingly invisible to most outsiders. Every year, they come together to celebrate the Gathering of the Juggalos, a music festival centered around ICP and the Juggalo lifestyle. To some they may seem scary, but most people have no firsthand experience and are unable to judge what Juggalos are really like.

The reality is that being a Juggalo or a Juggalette goes beyond ICP, it’s a family that looks to create lasting bonds within the community and celebrate weirdness in all forms. It’s about homies, relationships, and building a support system for people who have been treated like outcasts for their entire lives. Being down with the clown means being a part of something larger than yourself, and the vast majority of Juggalos and Juggalettes are just people looking to have a good time without the fear of society’s judgement.

The article then details the following subjects:

  1. For Many Juggalos, The Culture Is Like Having A Surrogate Family
  2. The Juggalo Culture Saves Lives
  3. There Is A Juggalette Feminist Movement: Lette’s Respect
  4. The Community Accepts People From All Walks Of Life
  5. ICP Themselves Are Actually Devout Christians
  6. Juggalos Organized A March On Washington In Response To Their FBI Gang Designation
  7. Many People Expected The Juggalo Protest To Turn Violent, But They Proved The Doubters Wrong
  8. Juggalos Are Often Persecuted For Their Affiliation With ICP
  9. Even ICP Themselves Are Dealing With The FBI Blowback
  10. The ACLU Is Helping Juggalos Clear Their Name
  11. Juggalos Have A Complicated Relationship With The Law
  12. The Entire Community Has Been Made Accountable For The Actions Of A Small Minority

Cool, another article that treats us as microbes in a socio-political pitri dish. Also:

“While there are some backwards-thinking Juggalos who oppose these changes,”

Remember kids, it’s not a difference of opinion, or preference, it’s *wrongthink*. God I fucking hate ‘journalists’.

And I’m down as fuck with Lette’s respect. But I’m not the soapbox for Ranker’s propaganda to stand on. Suck my dick with all that noise.

plus, the ‘devout christian’ thing. which im used to hearing, but is still pretty limp.
americans got a real bad habit of assuming that you must be a christian in order to believe in god. the supposedly educated ones are often worse about it. dumb phenomenon.

scruff I cant tell ya how many times Ive tried telling someone thats clearly religious that ICP arent christians, it blows my mind how hard it is to convey this very simple idea “but they say they believe in god” yes belief in a higher power and belief in christianity are 2 seperate things, if youre a christian you beleive in a higher power, but if you believe in a higher power that does not necessarily make you a christian. its a big problem in america, but it happens all over the world too.

Why is everybody bitching about ICP being labeled “Devout Christians”? I think from our perspective I’d rather have journalists label them that than “Gang Leaders”…. Despite what chips that may be left on some shoulders about it. Always an unseen karmatic balance about everything around us. I’m not saying I want ICP to have the “Christian” stamp on the Juggalo forehead either, but you all decide for yourselves…. Still prefer all of the positive press over the negative- despite of some of their unknowledgable flaws. Whoop Whoop

spooky j lets think for a half a second, why is everyone bitching about ICP being labelled as christian? ummm maybe because theyre not? its so blatantly obvious theyre not christians, they themselves have said it over and over again but people like you will believe what you want regardless of all evidence to make it fit your agenda. its not about positive and negative, its about whats true and whats false, them being labelled christians is false. also jesus is a lie haha

spooky j: for my part, the only practical effect is occasionally havin actual devout christians come up to me sayin ‘you must be a devout christian! so am i! now we can be homies [which is false], even though yesterday i thought you were a cynical lunatic [which was true]!’
that aside, it sticks in my craw. read a book, ranker.
frankly, people need to start treating spirituality like the extremely personal and private business that it is.

wasnt tellin you to read books, spooky j, i was tellin ranker dot com.
juggalos dont have to read books, i do it for them.
really, im not mad or anything about the jesus bit, as such. the whole article smacks of a hack writer who just found out about all this shit on google a week ago.
i mean, ‘the untold truths’? that have been told a zillion times, especially this last year?
‘what it really means to be down’? how the hell are they sposed to know that?
they stretched point 6 into points 6-12. thats not what it really means to be down, that is ‘well shit, theres a whole lot of this march stuff on google… better use it.’
just my view, lookin up from the petri dish.
