how on earth does 'generic' describe that beat?
Generic Mike Clark beat. Really un-inventive, sounds completely rushed, he's done beats with those ideas many many many times before but much much better. Sounds like a generic children's song. He even used the same exact cord progression from BPB.

suit selves.unless mike clark counts as his own subgenre or sumn, i think our understandings of the definition of the word differ.
shrug.
It's generic among Mike Clark beats and children's music. It does not stand out in any particular way from anything he's ever done other than how half assed and uninspired it sounds.

A human being, not a sheep that protects psychopathic and whoops at everything they put out. Get off their dicks.
If you like beats with lack of interesting melody's, simplistic lyrics (and I mean way more simplistic than previous ICP) then that's on you. The shit they been putting out is trash. considering TMML didnt do anywhere near as good as bpb and mdp would be a clear indication showing that.
Anyone can like what they want but icp the last 3-4 years for the most part has been wack and rushed. TMML sounds like it was recorded in a month. The dopest album they've released was the newest lotus, apart from that everything blows.
I find it funny that J said eventually they will stop putting albums out on disc because people aren't buying them. Which isn't the case at all. I know a solid 10 people that don't buy their shit anymore because it's trash. They hype up a release then you put it in and it's just complete garbage.
Mike e went from producing the original 6 to this new sound that just completely sucks dick. None of their beats hit hard, it basically sounds like uninspired lazy instrumentals with icp's goofyness. The shit with seven sucks too. Everytime seven is in the picture we get the 808s and all that other junk.

it would be, if i liked it.
as it happens, i listened to one song, once, and didnt care much for the beat.

hair up is straight up doo doo, it's well produced and all like some have said, but i well-produced a satisfying dump this morning, i thought about pressing up copies and giving em out at a vip event but, logic and common sense got the better of me and i flushed it, because it's....well a piece of poop. FFF the return of the angry ICP we've all been waiting for!
EDIT: I know we're not all waiting for the angry icp just some, but damn i wish ICP would act like they give a damn about their art.

I think the reason older Ninjas don't dig Mike E. Clark's new sound is because of the lack of sampling. It would cost an arm and a leg to recreate say...The Riddle Box in today's musical climate. Also as people grow their taste usually does as well, Including musical influence. The guy was on Tour with Kid Rock for damn near a year and y'all are surprised he produced a country sounding-ish beat? He has hit that older white guy classic rock/country phase.

It wasn't even just the sampling. Not every track from the original 6 were sampled. Look at AJB. Milenko wasn't even fully sampled. The problem is the beats just don't hit how they used to. None of the melodys sound inspiring. It all sounds generic to me. I also feel like every lyric sits on top of the mix which takes away from the beat. Drums on top of everything and lower the melody a bit so the vocals sit under the drums would be a nice touch. And harder hitting bass.
I could take a handful of songs from bpb, mdp, and lost/found and say now this was a step in the right direction, everything other than the songs I would choose I feel like would be a forgotten freshness track.
I'm glad wicked is gone i hated his style, he made some decent beats but the hihats ruined it. I wanna see mike p and mec collab together on an icp album, think it would be interesting. P wasn't the best but didnt mike p and MEC work on the first lotus?

I really like this song and the beat is dope. The bass is almost non existant tho.

Yeah I like this beat a lot too. I think if J would have put more thought into his flow, this could've been way better. But Mike P and Shaggy brought the goods.

Mike E. Clark is more than just s beat maker though. He would have the balls to tell J and shaggy No, that sounded wack, how about flowing this way or like this and they would take their time to perfect it. A producer over sees all aspects of a project. "Hair Up" over all is dumb but, it is a well produced and clean sounding song with everything from vocals to guitars evenly balanced out. It even has back up singers on the chorus...the other songs are just cheap.
Hells pit took a long time to grow on me because the production value was just not there. Anyone can string an over gained guitar chord on top of a very basic drum pattern and create "Everyday I Die".
Kuma,Mike P, Dr.Punch, YW..whoever would not be in a position to properly produce an actual song, just make the beat and play a yes man. TMML is a testament to that.
ICP lately have been trying to fix something that really was not broke. Let that "Chopper" style alone and get back to great story telling/Concept songs. PAY MEC for his time to produce a well balanced project. Sales numbers don't mean anything to Juggalos But, it hurts the labels bottom line and what other projects get funded. TMML compared to BPB and TMDP chart/Sales wise would dictate what ICP should do.

I know it doesn't really make sense, but it really bothers me that J is using the word pussy. He could have used the word Madden and it would have sounded exactly the same, maybe even better. It would not have changed the rhyme scheme or Rhythm and anyway. But, since he used the word pussy, it kind of sounds less like an ICP song in my brain.

I like this version a while lot better, I just hate j's flow I wish he'd go back to story telling rap like pumpkin carvers or house of horrors or I want my shit, he lost all this weight but still raps like he's fat. I wanna hear that shit that made them the INSANE clown posse, not this regular rap flow, rant over
