This last Sunday night I was lucky enough to catch Necro's first tour in Canada in over 10 years. He played just down the street from where I live in Toronto at The Rockpile.

The bonus for this tour is that Madchild is the direct support for all 20 shows across Canada, and Mr Hyde made it up to hype Necro and perform his own features.

It was early in the tour, but it was plain to see Madchild and Necro are running on their own schedules. Madchild took the stage at 10pm and performed for exactly 40 minutes(not a second longer), and then promptly thanked the crowd and booked from the stage. We then had to wait almost an hour before Necro came on to perform. Never cool to see all the energy sucked from the room due to a long wait, especially on a Sunday.

Madchild seemed to be in good spirits plowing through a dope mix of his solo hits, he really got the crowd going with his last track "Lawnmower Man". As usual he chatted a lot into the mic, he made sure to let us know he still prefers Los Angeles sun to Canadian snow.

Next it was Necro, and it must be said this was a major bucket list moment for me scratched off. I had never seen Necro perform live until last Sunday night. So dope that Mr.Hyde was there as well.

Necro's voice was shot, but it seemed to gain strength as the night went on. He blamed it on doing 6 shows in 6 nights.

His set list was a fresh mix of old and new, with a definite tilt towards his older shit. I think he did 4 tracks off Gory Days.

This show might have taken the cake for most violent rap gig I've ever attended. There was a pit for about 10 of the songs. I personally took a huge elbow to my cranium around the halfway mark of his hour long set. I may have re-broken my nose, as I blew out out a sweet amount of blood when I got home. It made me feel alive, know what I'm sayin'?

I was shocked how many chicks came out- here are some shots of Necro and Hyde killing shit-

I think this tour was big success, NECRO seemed very happy on social media as he went coast to coast, uploading footage of him making out with chicks backstage and shit.

Very shrewd to have Madchild open for him, definitely help fill the mid-size venues he played, fo sho.

Wondering what everyone is thinking of madchild these days. Have heard much about him or Jelly Roll from anyone. Pulled up an old thread so maybe it'll just get swept under the carpet again...

Madchild i fell in love with at a cleveland clown show 3-4 years ago. Chased him to columbus a year later where he was late, at the time it was acceptable. The Mrs. Says i have a mancrush on the dude cause i went and bought a boatload of shit with his name on it. The mrs signed me up for the bax warriors, got the patchs, wall flags, bandanas. Boatload of shit! Then comes GOTJ where he was supposed to perform and couldnt cause his voice. (Letdown #2) Then comes the march that he seemed hyped AF about and again no show (strike 3)...

Last I heard Jelly had a something with his heart at last gathering and is trying to do things to be better at whatever was ailing him. So to me its legit hes going thru some things (acceptable stamp)

Madchild has kept a much lower profile since the whole Snak the Ripper beef, which resulted in him stepping down as the "General" of Battle Axe Warriors a year or so ago.

His solo Canadian tour early last year was a bit of a flop, so I can see why he was willing to be the opener for Necro's tour up here last October.

Apparently at the tail end of that tour Madchild got into it with the promoter because he thought he should be paid more for the west coast shows, so he bailed on the last 4 or 5 dates. He then booked Swollen Members shows at those same venues a few months later.

I know that Rob, Prevail and him are still doing spot Swollen dates and mini tours around the globe.

His last album Darkest Hour didn't seem to garner as much notice, or chart as well as his previous solo efforts.

Usually he performs in Toronto 2 or 3 times a year, I hope he comes back soon. I always ago even though he pisses me off sometimes with his antics.
