“Fuck the Agora! Well not fuck the Agora because it’s a part of Cleveland , but we’re over here at Peabody ‘s,…. So FUCK THE AGORA!!!” Followed by a sea of chants, yells, and high-pitched whatever’s Tech announced that statement last night having just finished his first cup of Carribou Lou on stage. Strange Music parties are always among the best in town and this time around (in Cleveland ) they decided that they would be partying it up for two nights in a row last night being the first.

Like always there were opening bands for hours and days it seemed like. Some of them were o.k. but most of them blew huge donkey dick. Example: Murder House. The first dude to come out straight up was lip synching and the smaller one’s mic didn’t even work. Seriously, kind of looked like a horrorcore Milli Vanilli. Once we got out of the local acts from around the Ohio/Cleveland area it was smooth sailing you could say at least as far as the music was concerned.

First up on the stage to rock the mic right that night was Marz. Most of you probably already know who I’m talking about, but if you don’t he’s the original sixth member to Dark Lotus. Along with Psychopathic it seems that he just wants to forget that part of his career. Before he first came out on stage I though he was going to be rapping a sound that was similar to his style on ‘Tales From the Lotus Pod’, but he came out doing “Under dog music, the music you man up to and quit acting like a bitch to!” The Billion Dollar Ballers were in the building bringing their sounds from Chi-town. Gorilla Pimiping was surely in affect, pimiping the fuck out of the beats and getting the crowd to move their feets.

Once Marz had finished doing the damn thang came Brooklyn native, Ill Bill. Accompanied by his homie Slaine of La Coka Nostra and DJ Eclipse on the tables they brought raw hardcore east-coast gangsta shit. Doing tracks like ‘Fuck Tony Montana’, ‘Anatomy of a School Shooting’, ‘A Bullet Never Lies’, and ‘Gangsta Rap’ New York hip-hop was definitely well represented. Bill even took time to make the crowd chill out and slow down as so they wouldn’t be hurting this group of ladies proclaiming “We won’t do any more until y’all chill out!”

It was now time for the Fire and Ice Tour to kick off. Representing the Icy element with more carrots in his than Bugs Bunny’s lunch was Paul Wall with fellow Expensive Taste member Skinhead Rob. I personally have never really listened to Paul Wall but had heard of Skinhead Rob from DMS. I admit at the beginning I wasn’t feeling the Houston based rapper but towards the middle of his set it wasn’t so bad. The way all the music that was displayed fit together throughout the night seemed that it fit so perfect that the fact they would do it for two days in a row is mind boggling and completely fresh.

Finally, time for the blazing Fire skills of the Killer Clown: Tech N9ne. With longer hair, a new outfit, and Eat Shit painted on his forehead Tech approached the stage and let ‘Like Yeah!’ erupt from his microphone and it was on! His set was tight, hype, and a little drunk, but it felt like I had heard it before. Adding to the freshness were Kaliko and Calhoun each doing a couple tracks from upcoming releases ‘Vitaligo’ and ‘Feature Presentaion’. Big Krizz doing the whole version of ‘Anxiety’ and Kutt doing ‘Party Rock’ left those in attendance (artists included) wanting alcoholic substances. Tech was presented with a Strange Music pitcher half full of Carribou Lou, his drink of choice. After splashing some on a part of the crowd and a few gulps he chugged the rest from the encouragement of his partners in rhyme. At some point during the set Tech took the time to announce to the crowd some devastingly, awesome news. Killer was recorded so quick when they got home for those 4 months that it kept getting workd on and now we are going to be hit with a double-disc album of 32 ferocious tracks from the Kansas City King himself! Tech was drunk and hotter then a motherfucker and the show was wound down to a close shortly after, yet it was all hype as hell the way it happened. A good tour to hit up if you haven’t seen it yet.
