First off, I would like to apologize for the review being so short. The newspaper and websites said the show was at the Showbox, but it was ACTUALLY at the Showbox SoDo. I showed up way late, because i was waiting in line at the wrong venue. Not so much interested in the band Superdiamond, i walked a couple miles to the right venue, and got there in time to see Blaze Ya Dead homie wrapping up.

Slaine, Ill Bill, Mr. White aka Everlast, DJ Lethal, and Danny Boy, better known as La Coka Nostra took the stage VERY quickly, not giving us much room between sets, like shows should be! I wasn’t sure what to expect from them since they havent actually released an album yet. They did tracks from Special Teamz, Nonphixion, Ill Bill, House of Pain and various other projects the artists are involved in. It reminded me of a Subnoize Souljaz show how they mixed it up with material from mixtapes, albums, and collaborations. I remember them playing tracks like: “I’m an American,” “Anatomy of a School Shooting,” and “Jump Around” to name a few. I wouldn’t want to give out another single track on the set list, because i want YOU to go to the show and see for yourself how La Coka Nostra plans on rocking shows. I really think and hope LCN sticks around a while. Supergroups usually fail, but I have high hopes for these guys. Suburban Noize sure as hell has a badass roster these days.

Next up was the infamous Kottonmouth Kings. I hadn’t seen these guys live for about four years, but the stage presence was about the same as i remembered it from back in the day. An amazing display of lights and sounds bombarded the audience for well over an hour and a half. If I’m not mistaken, they performed at least one song off every album, ep, and remix album they have released. D-Loc, Richter and Daddy X were accompanied on stage as usual by Taxman, Pakelika, Lou Dog (who was in a plexiglass cubicle) and DJ Bobby B. The stage props were fucking insane. It seemed everything had lights in it, and the DJ booth was decked out in bud leaves. I’m sure most of you reading this have seen the Kings by now. My opinion of KMK shows in past years have been sub par at best, but this tour changed my mind a great deal. The So-Cal boys really gave it their all this time, and it shut me up, that’s for sure. If this tour rolls through anywhere within 100 miles of you, make the trip. It will be worth the effort and cash.

I was sent to review the tour, but if you want my opinion of the venue i saw the show at, I will say no ninjas should ever go to the Showbox SoDo if given a choice. The staff was very unfriendly, and made it very hard for me to get in. Not to mention, my photo pass was stuck to the front of my bandana, on my head in plain view. I still had a guard squirting water on my camera on purpose, which is the reason i didn’t get many nice shots of the show. After talking to him about it, he never apologized and continued to fuck with me at the show. Regardless, I managed to have a great time, and boost my karma a few points inside the show. If you happen to be from the Seattle area, thank you for coming out to the show and showing love to myself and the rest of the fam. Now stop fucking around and go order your ticket for the Bring Tha Noize Tour, as from what i hear, Short Dawg, Big B, Potluck, and Blaze Ya Dead Homie rocked it as usual.
