Yo let me tell you guys this was one of the freshest shows that I’ve seen in a minute! The TLA doors were supposed to open at 6:30 but I didn’t get up there until closer to 7:30-7:45 so I missed the local group 7th Layer, but I saw them open for ICP before so I can tell you they probably put on a great show again.

I walked in during Bliss and Eso’s set. These are the cats from Australia that they brought over for select dates on the tour and let me tell you they were UNREAL! They reminded me of the first time that I saw Potluck (on Twiztid’s Guilliotine tour I believe) and was just blown away at the skills. These guys had awesome stage presence with a live DJ and they got the small crowd (since it was still very early) rocking to EVERY joint. They even were Whoop Whooping to the Juggalos. A cool little thing they told us was that Australia didn’t have a hip hop scene really until around 10 years ago and now it’s blowing up big over there and that they were one of the first Australian rap groups to full on tour the US. Big B also mentioned later how there last album out charted Eminem’s release in the Australian charts. If you haven’t hear this guys, you got to go listen and especially see them because who knows when they will be back. They were handing out free mixtapes at the end of the night as well, I’m so happy I was able to pick one up! Don’t sleep on them ninjas!

Up next was Big motha fuckin’ B putting it down for everybody! As the other ninja wrote in the review of the Strange Noize Tour, if you’ve seen Big B before you know what you’re getting because he hasn’t changed it up way too much. But that’s not a bad thing! I for one am a HUGE Big B mark and always love the chance to see him play. It seemed like alot of the crowd wasn’t reacting much to him at first and I know that a big group of people near me were asking who Big B was when he started, but by the end of the set he had the whole crowd into it. He played all of the classics like “Hooligan” “White Trash Renegade”and “Crazy”. While still mixing in some of the new favorites like “Let it Rain” and a few joints from “Good Times & Bad Advice”. He had Bliss and Esso’s DJ working the vinyl for him too and he put on one hell of a show.

After a quick set change to put up a banner the dead man Blaze ya Dead Homie hit the stage with a hooded hypeman and brought the Juggalos out in full force! The sub noize rats had their hands full that night because Juggalos were up in that bitch!! Blaze with his clock around the neck played all of the classics like “Hood Rat” “Nasty” “Juggalo Anthem” and the new shit like “Ridin the Whip” and “Dub Sack”. He seemed to be closing with “Escape Artist” but then said we got to atleast do one more track and busted out the new track that you guys posted the video of “10 40s”. He gave a shout out to all the Juggalos and made sure the crowd knew who we were and who he represented and was gone like that. Always fun to see Blaze.

After a long intermission, the lights went out and the crowd swelled as the one and only Kottonmouth Kings hit the stage! They went full force with the stage set with tons of lights that you would need to see to comprehend. They said they wanted full props and visuals this tour and they didn’t disappoint. One of the best things to see when the curtain opened however was Lou Dog back on stage with the band! DJ Bobby B and Lou Dog started playing the beat and one by one the Kings filed out on stage Daddy X, Johnny Richter, D-Loc and finally the one and only Dirtball! For what seemed like all the night the Kings ripped the hits and blew bong rips with Philadelphia!

On a personal note, during the set I ran into Big B at the bar on the balcony and he found out it was my 21st birthday the day before and bought me a few drinks and kicked it until Daddy Long Legs and the Wolfpac crew rolled in and they excused themselves. Much love to Big B and Wolfpac for that, it was beyond fresh!

Anyway back to the Kings, for some reason for the first time in the probably 7 years that I’ve been going to the TLA they didn’t have security at the barricade for this show which allowed for climbing on stage and stage dives all night! This was unreal to be a part and gave a whole new element to the Kings unreal show with so much one on one crowd interaction! After the set they made sure to walk across the stage and shake every hand that they could which was mad fresh. When that was going on I asked DJ Bobby B if I could get the set list and he hooked it up so they’re entire set list follows:

Long Live the Kings
Day Dreamin Fazes
Subnoize Rats
King Click
Party Monsters
K.O.T.T.O.N.M.O.U.T.H Song
Full Throttle

Zero Tolerance
Checkmate
Get Your High On (The whole band was on stage but only Richter sang)
“D Iz Who I B” (D-Loc solo)
“Mushroom Cloud” (Dirtball solo)
Pack Your Bowls
Rip the Night Away

Overall it was a real good show and I would recommend it if it’s rolling through your city. The price was only $30 ($26 if you got it before the day of the show) so if you get the chance and have the change then go and see it! Kottonmouth always puts on a great show and with the addition of Blaze, Big B and the rare chance to see Bliss and Eso you there is no reason not to!!
