Now when I first heard fox was gonna make a movie based on the Drgaonball Saga (waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 2003) I fuckin’ marked out..no joke..and it’s no lie that I am a fan of dragonball and dragonball z (hell my clown-name happens to be Psychopathic-Goku or Gokuyadeadhomie for christ sakes) and i couldn’t wait for this bitch to be made. I never got a chance to check it out in the theaters. But everybody that I knew said it sucked..so I decided to rent it on Netflix. and after seeing it last night..I can now bring you a review….Juggalo Style! The Movie starts off with Goku (Justin Chatwin of that tom cruise movie War of The Worlds) being trained by Grandfather Gohan (Randall Duk Kim) and that’s the first of 7 fuck-up’s that fox decided to do. in the Manga Gohan’s dead..he died when Goku was a baby so….Fuck up #1. Anyways. Goku is in school at the next scene (fuck up #2) and uses his Ki to help a girl open her locker. We now meet Chi-Chi (Jamie Chung) (fuck up #3) now if you read the manga you’d know that goku and chi-chi met when goku was 12 and chichi was 11. Anyways. After getting the 4 star dragonball from his grandfather and goku goes to a party. While there Gohan gets murdered by Piccolo’s servant Mai (Eriko Tamura). Anyways that leads to the start of the real story. Goku than meets Bulma (Emmy Rossum) who happens to be in college and is a gun-slinging bad girl (fuck-up #4). We than meet Master Roshi (Chow Yun-Fat…legendary Martial Art’s action superstar) and whats this shit? He has hair! (Fuck-Up #5). Anyways they now go on search for the 7 dragonballs and Roshi trains Goku while driving. They fall into a hole and meet Yamcha (Joon Park). A desert bandit who later on becomes bulmas boyfriend (if they release a sequel..read the dragonball and dragonball z mangas to see how far they went). After finding the dragonballs Mai steals em while dressed as Chi-Chi and we lead to the final battle of the movie where Goku and the gang finnaly meets Piccolo (James Marsters AKA Spike from Buffy The Vampire Slayer) and whats this shit? Where the fuck is his antenai? (Fuck-up #6) and look at this shit? to call the Enternal Dragon u gotta go to a ancient castle? (fuck-Up#7). anyways. Goku and Piccolo Fight and I am not gonna spoil the ending..all i am gonna say is that it does spawn to a sequel and if it does..they better not fuck it up!

The Effects in this movie is the shit tho. The same ninjas who did the effects for The Matrix did this one…And the Effects is prolly what saved this movie from becoming a F-A-I-L-U-R-E in my eyes. The storyline was okay and yes I know that fox was trying to appeal to the people who never heard of Dragonball. So they can live for now. The Cast did fit everything. I am so glad they made Bulma an american chick cuz West City in the Manga is actually LA. Justin Chatwin did give us the Goku we know and love…minus the fact that they forgot that Goku’s sorta a goofball and has more “Blonde Moments” than a real Blonde. James Marsters Did give Piccolo a live-action Identity and I am so fuckin’ glad they casted him to be Piccolo and thats just me speaking as a fan of Spike from Buffy. And Chow-Yun-Fat as Roshi was just more perfect than Jackie Chan..On the Fuckin’ Real!

All in all I shall give this bad boy a 4 outta 5. It really should be a 3 outta 5 but it gets an extra point for effort. The Plot failed (like most live action films based on an anime or manga) but it fought back with great effects and a-few good cast members.
