I’m not going to lie, when I read what this group was all about, I didn’t think I was going to like it one single bit. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not a typical music fan, the type afraid of anything original, the kind that fears creativity. I actually crave it, and go out of my way to seek it. However, bluegrass, country, blues, whatever you want to call it, it just never appealed to me. So when I hear a group has blended all of the aforementioned genres with hip-hop and classic rock, I will say I was intrigued, but not expecting anything more than a failed music experiment.

Thankfully I am not one of those music fans, and I decided to give this a chance. I put all my unfair pre-judgments aside, and blocked out my close-mindedness, and was rewarded quite nicely.

The Villebillies are a ten member band from Kentucky, which consists of five different guys on vocals. They are Demi, Dylan, 2B, Child, and Tuck, who is also the producer. Others in the band are Adam on acoustic guitar, Justin on guitar, Ron on bass, BJ on keyboard, and Tim on drums.

The beats on this album are highly addictive, I’d even say toe-tapping to stick with the whole country vibe. The other thing you’ll notice is how smooth everything comes off, some large groups sound so cluttered, with everyone stepping on each others toes, and getting in one another’s way. But not here, even with five vocalists, everyone seems to come in at just the right time, and they seem to have placed each person in the perfect spot to showcase their distinct style.

“Whiskey” is a perfect opener, with a highly addictive beat, and everyone coming strong lyrically. “Grass Roots” is my favorite song on this album, it has such a positive vibe, and will make you feel good when listening to it. “Hey” and “Greatest Moment” are also highly enjoyable as they really highlight these guys ability to flow.

The Bottom Line: This is an easy album to listen too, and an even easier album to enjoy. A laidback mellow experience that ends way too quickly, and will have you listening to it more than once in a row. In a polluted music industry, this is a breath of fresh air. Feel free to step outside the box and take a deep breath with me.

I hate that every time Twiztid comes to my town it’s on a weekend. Last 3 tours now have been on a weekend that I’ve had to miss because they’re on a weekend and I can’t get off work.

Who cares if icp did it!! I love comics and branching out trying to grow ur company in a positive way!! I hope they have success with this adventure!!! Cause there music sucks now, so if cons and comics sell do it!!!

What a jackass comment. Some people don’t get on the forums. On a different note rather you respect or hate or whatever MNE this is pretty pimp. I will say that’s about the only song I actually can listen to since they left psychopathic. They can finally say they did something that ICP hasn’t.
