Greetings and salutations internet people!

Hope everyone is planning for the coming “Zombie” problem kicking off in Florida!

Scary stuff man. 2012 is here let the shit hit the fan. I can tell you one thing thou man. My final days imma just chill with the fam, drink booze, eat fried things and watch movies yo. So speaking of movies that brings us to….

Okay so since Jaw’s came out we knew we weren’t safe in the water. Where ever good aquatic times are going down trust that fin will be popping out the water very soon. I’ve always been a sucker for a water/monster flick. The sea is a strange vast place that’s more foreign to us than outer space. From “Loch Ness Monster” or that “River Monster” show on TV people always love a good fish story. This movie about college kids visiting a lake(or ocean I couldn’t figure it the fuck out) side town surprisingly rocked!!! I knew I would get a reasonable amount of joy outta seeing it but it really was enjoyable. so lets get into the breakdown.

The Good:
The whole reason why it went down was kind of ingenious. Like it was so evilly brilliant I’m positive that this has to be going on somewhere. The Villains in the movie are pretty cool. You actually hate them and want to see them get stabbed in their eyes. Sometimes with movies of this nature there’s little to no character build up. The use of a variety of watercraft was kinda cool aswell. Plus you get to see a ton of different sharks. They also play into the real life problem of Bull Sharks getting into the river system. The actual thought given to some parts of this were real impressive.

The Bad:
Some other parts were given no thought at all! LOL! Like one guy keeps getting injured beyond recognition. Yet he refuses to die. Which usually I’d respect but when half the other cast dies trying to save the guy who has no chance of living you question the whole thing. Like he’s been missing half his body for 5 hours!!! Let him go. Also no boobs. I guess they wanted to make the whole PG-13 thing happen. Which okay cool but you have a bunch of college girls drinking Wine Coolers and being sluts on a boat. You want to see a nip slip or some sideways winking beaver.

The Bloody:
Dude best scene is an awesome showdown involving a shark, a man, a spear and shallow water. Beyond that, arms get torn off. Blood ends up everywhere and there is a hefty body count. As it is a PG-13 movie you don’t see Hostel style gore but it gets pretty good. Really there’s some nasty shark bite action though.

At the end I can’t honestly say this movie rocked more than it had any right to. If you’re looking for an awesome movie to watch on a slow night, watch it! If you like Shark flicks you’ll love this one. If you hate shark flicks it probably won’t change your opinion.

Have a great day and Thanks for reading,
