CLAAS is an innovative artist from Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX.  He performs every show as if it his last.  He is not your ordinary “rapper” by a long shot.  He is extremely dedicated to his fans and constantly works to improve on his last project.  He has made a strong name for himself in the Underground as well as the mainstream.  Many of his fans compliment his live performances even after seeing it numerous times.  He is easily becoming one of the best unsigned artists out right now.

Track by track review and rating

1.     R.E.S.P.E.C.T Intro:  Very short intro.  N/A

2.     Respect:  Great song.  The concept and message in the track is very truthful.  The hook has a very unique robotic spelling of the word respect and states the message that respect is earned not given.  The beat is hard and driving.  The vocals are well put together.  A nice opening track to this album.  8/10

3.     This is your Captain Speaking:  The beat in this track catches the listener’s attention immediately.  The hook is catchy but does not match the energy of the verses.  7/10

4.     Loyalty Feat Bukshot & FDux:  This track also makes a really solid statement about underground music.  The beat is very well constructed and the featured artists round out the vocals very nicely.  9/10

5.     Where They at:  This track does not do well following the last one.  Vocals don’t really stand out and the hook is standard.  6/10

6.     Hugs and Kisses:  A song for all his haters.  A very complex beat lends to the vocals hitting hard.  The hook is decent but fails to catch the listener’s attention.  7/10

7.     Savior:  One of the slower beats on the album.  It pays respects to a friend who supported him while he was struggling.  Overall a good track with a catchy hook.  7/10

8.     Finally Feat Veezy:  Another mellower track to end the album.  Veezy does his thing and lays down a nice verse.  Good beat and smooth vocals make this enjoyable.  8/10

Overall Album Rating:  7.5/10

Conclusion:  A nice combination of smooth verses over great beats.  Definitely a worthy effort from one of Underground Hip Hop’s up and coming artists.  This album is recommended for any fans of true hip hop.
