Track by track review and rating

  1. Basics Ft OOPs- This track has a nice old school feel in the beat.  The first three verses while performed solidly are performed in almost a whisper which gets overpowered by the beat.  The last verse performed by OOPs is not recorded that way and it ends the track on a huge positive not.  The hook is simple but effective.  6/10
  2. Bullets On My Tongue- This beat is a little too complex and distracting.  The mix of the vocals and beat is way off here.  You can hear the natural ability of Skywriter but it is overshadowed by an improper mix unfortunately.  5/10
  3. Stoopid (Fuck The People)- Another extremely simple beat in this one.  His vocals are once again a little too low for the beat.  The lyrics are good overall.  6/10
  4. It’s All In Your Head- This beat is an old school feel with a slightly current feel with the added sound effects.  The hook is simple but it works here.  The mix is better in this track and the lyrics are solid.  7/10
  5. The One You Love To Hate- This track also suffers from an improper mix.  The lyrics and flow are really nice but hard to hear.  The hook is very nice with the added female vocals.  6/10
  6. (I Need A) Dollar Ft OOPs- The beat is very unique and a nice change of pace.  The verses flow very well with the beat.  The first verse could use an increase in volume but the second verse is mixed properly.  OOPs once again gives us a solid verse.  7/10
  7. Ric Flair- A smooth beat is back by simple guitar licks.  The mix is much better in this track.  The lyrics and hook are very nice.  This is the best track on the album to this point.  The mix is almost there and the flow is undeniable.  8/10
  8. We Were High Ft J Hornay- This is another old school vibe in the beat.  The verses are performed well and the hook is solid.  7/10

Conclusion:  It is nice to see an artist with verbal abilities and nice beats.  The downfall of most of the tracks is the mixing and mastering.  The vocal to music levels if properly done would have increased the overall rating.  This album is a nice chill album and Skywriter definitely has skills on the mic.  If you get a chance to check out the tour, go check it out and show him some love.  The album is not an absolute for hip hop fans but if you want a chill album pick it up and check it out.

Album Rating: 6.5/10
