Scumbag Worldwide brings together a variety of different horrorcore artists under one banner and delivers a solid collaboration album. Big Rela, being the owner/founder, is featured in a majority of the tracks here. Of course, the album also does a great job of showcase the talent you may or may not have heard of in the Florida horrorcore scene.

Anyway, let’s get this review started already…

The, “Intro,” for this album certainly sets the tone for a story to come, but as I’ve mentioned before I’m not a huge fan of intros. Of course, for what it is, I have to say it is well done. The acting isn’t ridiculous and is actually believable, setting the dark, twisted overtone of a tale that is a reflection of the style of music to come. 3/5

“#CharlesManson,” sets the tone for this album and showcases the collaboration efforts of bringing a variety of artists together under the Scumbag worldwide banner. Though the beat start melodically enough, it quickly drops to a much darker tone as Lord Rock delivers a solid opening verse. Big Rela and Grim Gutter also balance out the track nicely and offer a nice opening track. 3.5/5

While we’ve had a taste of Big Rela in the previous track and he once again brings a solid verse to the table, but this our first chance to hear what Jimmy Knox has to bring to the table. The track itself is a little more up tempo, but Knox delivers, what very well may be my favorite verse on the entire album. Hell, I’d recite it, but it would take too long. Just listen to the track. My only knock on, “That’s What We Given Em,” is that the chorus is a bit too familiar and repetitive. 4/5

“Double Reflection,” kicks the tempo up once again and gives a nice solid melody to the beat. Switchblade Stiletto offers a soft chorus and a hard hitting verse to back it up. Her flow is slower and compliments Big Rela’s more aggressive vocal style. Rela delivers several great verses and even bounces back and forth for a moment with Switchblade, but overall this feel like a showcase for her skills. Thankfully, her skills are perfectly on point. 4/5

The next track, “Fuckin Tribe,” is literally just that by bringing Big Rela, Jimmy Knox, Animus, Gloom and Grimm Gutter together. A trap style beat underlays the entire track and it’s another nice change up for this collaboration effort. This track more than any other showcases and clearly waves the Scumbag Worldwide banner high. Everyone comes with some decent verses, though the track does feel uneven at times. This is an unfortunate side effect that sometimes comes with featuring so many artists on one track. Either way, this is a good anthem for the Scumbag Worldwide crew. 3.5/5

“Universal Violence,” returns the album to its horrorcore roots. Gloom, Jimmy Knox and Big Rela all reminding you of the viciousness that is the heart of the genre. The beat also pounds along with dark undertones that fit perfectly with this head nodding track. It seems almost every piece comes together nicely and delivers a wonderfully solid overall track and makes it, hands down, one of my favorites on the whole album. 5/5

Tommy Gunz the Dark One, joins the fray with both Big Rella and Grimm Gutter and shows he can hold his own with the crew. Of course, each artist brings their own unique flow on this track, but each verse seems more disturbingly brutal then the last. Definitely not for the squeamish (and who here is?) but suiting for a track entitled, “Monster.” 4.5/5

“Poisonous Arachnids,” stands highly above the rest of the album in my eyes and it isn’t for the reasons you might think. The slowed down beat is definitely a nice change, while still keeping the hard hitting mentality. Big Rela, Jimmy Knox and Grimm Gutter once again show the talent of the Scumbag family with near perfect verses. Hell, this track even includes an amazing verse from the homie Claas, but after everything it’s the hook that grabbed me on this one. It opens the song and I still have it stuck in my head. All in all, amazingly put together track. 5/5

Tha Morbid One and Komatose join up this time to bring a fresh feel to, “Welcome to the Grindhouse.” Along for the ride are both Big Rela and Jimmy Knox, all of who manage to match their individual styles nicely with this more bouncing beat. This track in particular is a really nice switch of pace for the album and is a nice way to switch things up, while staying true to horrorcore. 4/5

“Murder,” is a track that I really wanted to enjoy more than I did. Don’t get me I’ll still listen to it, but the verses simply feel uneven and uncomplimentary for each other. It’s odd to feel that way since, Big Rela, Jimmy Knox, Grimm Gutter and Lord Rock have all had solid appearance so far on the album. All of the artists do deliver beastly on the lyrical front, but something is just lost in the way everything comes together on this one. 3.5/5

The bass pounding beat lines, “Guilty,” and also brings in appearances from both CVS The Horrorcorest and tunnel runner alum, J-Reno. Grimm Gutter delivers another hard-hitting verse and surprisingly the others manage to match well with his style. The chorus can feel uneven, but it has a good message. Overall, this is an aggressive vocal, lyrical and musical track. 4/5

A nice rough track that gives a nice platform for all three rappers to showcase their own lyrical and stylistic forms. “Lobotomy Music,” is another aggressively driven track that shows how well Big Rela can work alongside another duo. The J. Hexx Project fits nicely into the vibe on this one and it’s nice to see the Under Ground Prop squad’s own Saint Sinna delivering a solid performance to balance out the entire track. 4/5

“Stalked by Evil,” changes things up a bit, but not in the way you would think. Unlike the rest of this album, this track is a stand-alone, solo Tommy Gunz the Dark One track. The beat on this one is dark, slow and almost reminiscent of the Halloween theme song (one of my favorite movies). Truthfully, it feels like a throwback horrorcore track and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s a solid outing with a nice hook to pull it all together. 4/5

It was an interesting choice to end on another solo track, this time by Jimmy Knox, but as it turns out, “Sick Fuck Musick,” is an amazing song to go out on. The hook is definitely one to nod your head to and the female vocals help balance it out nicely. Lyrically, the track is a down right brutal tale of murder and mayhem. After the collaboration efforts on this release, it’s nice to see that Knox can hold down this entire track on his own. 4.5/5

ALBUM OVERALL: In the end this album may have some uneven moments but it is a promising sign of things to come from the entire Scumbag Worldwide crew. Each artist manages to bring a unique style, while still keeping that pure horrorcore feel throughout the album. You’d think that such a large amount of different artists may give the album a jumbled feeling, but it actually comes together well in the end. It’s great to hear so many talented artists under one banner and “Hyperbolic Time Chamber ” is more then worth the $10 price tag. Of course, that’s for a physical copy. You could always pick it up through their Bandcamp site and name your own price, but either way it’s definitely worth checking out for any horrorcore fan.
