Stacc Styles is quickly rising as one of the top MCs, in Arizona. Blending a wide range of flow patterns, with diverse and deep song concepts, has kept Stacc on the top of the game. He has opened for many national acts, in both hip-hop and rock, and is currently working on branching out into larger touring opportunities. His first full length solo album, “INSIDE THE RIDE,” has received amazing feedback since it’s release on May 1st. Stacc also puts on one of the most rowdy, crowd interactive live shows in hip-hop, and coined the phrase “HIGH ENERGY HIP-HOP” in 2011.

Track list and ratings

Eye of the Dragon (Heavy)- This track starts with a light string vibe which gives way to a very heavy guitar backed bass beat. The verses are solid overall and show Stacc’s rhyming ability. The hook is also very well written and is very easy to see in a live setting. The volumes of the vocals could be blended a little better. 3.8/5

Bright Lights- The beat in this track is a slow and complex beat. The hook is a little too simple but that is ok here because it allows fans to get into it. The verses are much slower and that also works because it allows the lyrics to shine. The levels are off in this one as well but not as bad as the first one. 3.7/5

AZ Breakdown Ft Marley B- This track has a trap feel to it. The beat is solid and has a great electric vibe to it. The levels here are much better. The verses are very well done and the hook is catchy. Marley B adds a solid verse here as well. 4.3/5

Fully Automatic- This track shows Stacc’s skills as a chopper. The beat is simple but it needs to be here. A nice display of lyrical talent. 4/5

Give ‘em Deuces- A slow beat drives this track. The song itself is about moving forward and leaving past relationships in the past. Most listeners have felt the feelings expressed in this track. The verses are well performed and the levels are on point. 4/5

Stains in my Heart- After a longer intro the track hits with a heavier bass drop. The verses are set at a really good level but the hook seems muddled. The track talks about love lost and the impact on his life. 3.5/5

Sledgehammers Ft Jon Russell- The intro features a carnie sound introducing people to ride “The Sledgehammer” a good intro. The beat hits super heavy but is an awesome example of blending hip hop and Dubstep This track is high energy and will get listeners pumped. 5/5

Stay Awhile Ft Pamela Ann- The beat here is a little more of an 80’s vibe. The verses are good but lack a little something. The hook is decent and works here. The levels on this track are off once again. 3.5/5

Patiently Awaiting- A solid hype beat here. The hook is nicely done. The track is about pushing through and making it even when the odds are against you. The verses show Stacc Styles ability to shift during a track. 3.8/5

Where Dreams Die- The music behind this track has an old school vibe to it. The verses are performed a lot slower and that is a good thing in a track like this. Stacc shows a slower and softer side. He is able to express his views and opinions clearly. A nice change of pace in this album. 4.2/5

Cut Throats- A steady melodic beat backs this track. The verses flow very well with the beat. The tracks discusses a group of people and how they work to make it as a squad despite any changes in their group. The hook is good and easy to sing along with. 3.9/5

Smackdown Ft Capo Crook- Another solid beat here. The track features Stacc’s CCS partner Capo Crook. The beat and verses are well recorded and leveled. The track tells a solid story. Capo adds his unique style to this one. The hook is easy to go along with as a listener. 4.5/5

Ride With It Ft Greg Sacks & Jon Russell- Stacc and Greg Sacks make up the Optic City All Stars. This track has a smooth and hard hitting beat. This is a party track without a doubt. Greg gives a good verse and Jon Russell adds a nice metal edge to this one. 4.2/5

Eye of the Dragon (Hip Hop)- This version of this track features a beat that removes the metal guitar and edge and leaves a string heavy hip hop beat. Some listeners will like the first track better and some will dig this one. Removing the guitar and metal sound allows the verses and hook to shine. 4.8/5

Outro- A very simple musical backing in this one. Stacc gives shout outs to his producer, sponsors, friends, family, etc. all while mixing a little verse here and there. Nice to see an artist show love to the people who made it all possible. The vocals could be purer here. 3.8/5

Voicemails- Ending the album with a simple beat that backs actual voicemails that fans of his submitted. Another good way to show love to the fans. 3.5/5

Overall Rating: 4.03/5

Conclusion: Stacc Styles first solo release had some great highs and some not so great lower moments. Some tracks had very solid production and some left the listener wondering what happened. For his first solo release Stacc showed his diversity and ability to bring the high energy hip hop he promises to his fans. Hip Hop fans should pick this one up and give it a listen.
