On Monday, October 19th, I had the wonderful chance to cover the Clifton Park, New York stop on the “Welcome To The Underground” tour as a member of the press for Faygoluvers. I attend all of the shows anyways, so the press pass was just an added bonus. This show was a little bit different for me because I have not attended a weekday show since my kids were born. Either way I got off work, went to pick up my babysitter, drop her off at my house and grabbed my wife and cameras an headed out to the venue.

We arrived around 5:30p.m. (This is the earliest I’ve been to a show in a long time) so I could shoot some crowd photos, but while we were outside there was not really to many people there yet. I did have a chance to meet a couple online homies Hannah and Jeff. Shortly after some of our good friends showed up and we just chilled until the doors opened around 7p.m. Since we arrived early, we were able to get in within 5 minutes of the doors being open. I picked up my press pass and quickly went to find the bouncer who watches the area where the entrance of the photo pit is. Since I have been to this venue a few times before, I already knew the rules. I just wanted to make sure he saw my pass so I would not have any trouble later on.

K.Daver

The show started relatively quickly and randomly with local opener K.Daver taking the stage. If you have attended any underground shows at Upstate Concert Hall then you already know who K.Daver is. This was at least the 4th time I’ve seen him. Each time his performance gets better. After about 15 minutes of killing the stage, his time was up. Since there were so many artists on the actually tour line-up, K.Daver was the only local opener

Trilogy

Within a few minutes Trilogy took the stage. Before seeing him live at this show, I had not really heard much music from him. Everyone at the show seemed to be digging him. Once his music is more available I think the crowd will be more engaged. His twenty minute set left me wanting to hear more. After I took photos of him during his first couple songs I was leaving the photo pit and happened to see Scum. I decide to go over to him and introduce myself. We chatted for a few minutes about the tour, him hanging with Scottie D, and a few other random things. Since he was about to go on I wished him good luck and finished watching Trilogy‘s performance.

Scum

The venue started to fill up with more people as Scum with special guest Damien Quinn of Dark Half took the stage. Scum and Damien quickly had everyone in the crowd moving around and singing. Song after song, they were going hard. This was my first time seeing Scum or anyone from LSP, but after their set I can see why everyone always told me I need to catch them live. If you have the chance to see Scum live, do not pass up on it!

I’ve been to countless shows including other Twiztid shows and I’ve never seen one where the time in between each artist taking the stage was so short. I’m not complaining. This to me was a great thing. With that being said, it was time for Wolfpac!

Wolfpac

Wolfpac

Wolfpac‘s performance was crazy! With the band, the masked dudes, and the Girls of Wolfpac all bouncing all over the place, it was hard to keep an eye on everything that was happening. The crowd was eating it all up. As Wolfpac belted out track after track, the mosh pit was getting crazier and crazier. Wolfpac definitely puts on one hell of a show.

Psychopathic Museum

While I was chilling towards the back after Wolfpac‘s set, I had a member of the Facebook group Psychopathic Museum ask me if I could take a photo of their group. I told him yes, but he had to hurry because Prozak was getting ready to take the stage. So, within a minute I shot the group photo and another one that include a bunch of Juggalos that asked to join. After I was done I started to make my way to the photo pit.

Prozak

Prozak took the stage and quickly ended up doing his set on the guard rail. So, I spent the time in the pit making sure I didn’t get in his way as he moved from side to side performing on the guard rail. As his set continued the crowd was getting louder and louder singing along and enjoying the show. Towards the end of his set Prozak announced that he was going to go into the crowd and perform a song. Him and Flip walked around the guard rail, went straight to the center of the crowd and he finished his set.

While I was waiting for the next artist to take the stage I spoke with Scum again. This time over by his merchandise booth. K.Daver, Scum, and most of Wolfpac spent the night after their sets at the merchandise booths chilling and chatting. Prozak also came out to his merchandise booth a few times.

Boondox

Soon it was time for Boondox to come out and perform. The music hit, the crowd started moving closer to the stage. It seemed more people had showed up. Boondox came out and the venue erupted! From new to old, Boondox played everything the crowd wanted and more. Boondox was on fire this night not skipping a beat. The crowd was really involved in his set. After his 30 minute set was over, he left everyone wanting more.

Blaze Ya Dead Homie

It was time for everyone’s favorite dead homie, Blaze to take the stage. Blaze came out and instantly starting murdering the stage with the help of Big D. His set was a mixture of old Juggalo favorites to brand new songs from his upcoming album, “The Casket Factory,” which goes up for pre-order on Halloween. During his whole set, in between songs the crowd was chanting for his hype man to unmask. Some of the Juggalos were guessing that his hype man was actually Anybody Killa. A few times Blaze played along and started chanting, “Take Off The Mask,” he finally said, “If his hype man was ABK, he damn sure would not be wearing a mask and they would be playing some Drive-By songs.” Finally, Blaze told everyone that his hype man was his homie Big D. He went back to rocking the stage and finished out his set with a bang.

Twiztid

At this point of the show (11:20p.m.) it was time for The Demented Duo, TWIZTID take rock the dead. While I was waiting for them to come out I over heard a couple bouncers talking about the show being almost over, since it had to end at 12 a.m.. I was sort of confused because every time I’ve seen Twiztid at this venue before their set always lasted for an hour plus and went back past 12 a.m.. With that nonsense aside, the intro for Twiztid started playing and they quickly came out torn the venue down! Track after track after track, they were on fire killing it all night long. After I was done shooting from the photo pit, I saw George (Twiztid’s manager) at the side of the stage, so I took the opportunity to thank him for allowing me to have a press pass and wished him good luck on the rest of the tour. I went back into the crowd to enjoy the rest of Twiztid‘s set. As Twiztid continued to blow the place up, I was roaming the venue snapping photos of Madrox and Mono from the crowd. As the show was winding down Twiztid mentioned that they were being forced off the stage early. I doubt too many people would have even noticed if they had not said anything. So, after they played their last song, Mono and Jamie thanked everyone for showing up. They both jumped off the stage and started high fiving and hugging the Juggalos at the guard rail. Almost a week later and my wife is still mentioning being hugged by both Twiztid.

This was without a doubt one of the best overall shows that I have been to. Shortly after the show ended I met back up with my wife, as we were leaving when I ran into Scum and Damien. I quickly introduced my wife to them. I wished them the best of luck on the rest of the tour and we quickly headed home, because I had to work the next morning.

I would like to thank Scottie D.  If it was not for you, I would not have had this great opportunity. George, Twiztid, and everyone at MNE for giving me the chance to cover the show. Scum, for treating me like a friend even though we had never met before and finally Mono and Jamie thank you for putting on a great show and making my wife’s night by giving her a hug.
