On Saturday, May 7th, the Duke of the Wicked, Violent J and the Southwest Strangla, Shaggy 2 Dope, who are collectively known as the Insane Clown Posse once again chauffeured the Dark Carnival into Clifton Park, New York.

After dropping off our kids and getting a quick bite to eat, my wife (Linzie), Heather and I headed out to Upstate Concert Hall to attend ICP’s “Riddle Box” tour.

We arrived a couple hours before doors opened so we could hang out with some of our homies. We pretty much just chilled and bullshitted until the security started asking people to get into line. I had never seen this happen before, but I believe it was related to a church being open for services next door. Either way, we joined the line and within  20 minutes or so they started letting everyone into the venue.

Once I entered the venue I went to pick up my photo pass. Now to be honest, after the drama that happened at the Chris Webby concert the week before, I was kind of worried. Thankfully, the night started off on a great note and I had no problem picking up my pass!

I headed over to the merch booth to see what was available. The crowd was mobbing the table, so even though I wanted to pick up a couple movies and shirts…I decided to wait since I needed to get my camera ready for the show.

DJ Carlito was already on stage playing tracks from his laptop when we entered. So, I used his first set to get my camera set up and ready to go. At this point, I was talking to a couple of the different security guards that I’m friendly with since this is my local venue and they have worked every show I have attended.

A short time later Wat’R Th Foulable IZ $c0 Th Panama Kidd took the stage and the show was under way. Truthfully, I had never even heard of him before. His songs were well put together. He is very talented and you should check him out if you have a chance!

DJ Carlito once again started playing music out of his laptop. After a short break, it was time for the next performer to take the stage.

K. Daver with Kinetik were the next to take the stage. This was either the 3rd or 4th time I’ve seen them. Each time they bring more and more energy and excitement! Since they have opened for Twiztid and Tech N9ne in the same venue before, the crowd knew them and were definitely into the performance. If you get a chance, you really should check K. Daver out.

Once K. Daver and Kinetik finished up, the crew started to get the stage ready for the next performers, which after a short break turned out to be Young Wicked.

Young Wicked took the stage and the place erupted! He performed a mixture of solo, AMB, and Killjoy Club songs. During his performance, after my 3 songs in the photo pit, I asked a member of security if I could get up on his box and snap a couple photos…surprisingly he allowed me to!

Young Wicked is really becoming more comfortable being up on the stage as a solo performer. Since the last time I saw him on The “Marvelous Missing Link” tour, his stage presences has improved so much! The crowd was eating out of his hand…even when he busted out with a Tool cover song. It seems to me more people are enjoying him as a solo artist and finally showing him some love and respect.

Another short break took place as they got the stage for the main event…it was almost time for the kings of the wicked shit to take the stage. I quickly put everything I had into zip lock bags and put a rain coat on my camera (yes, they make them for cameras) and I moved toward the photo pit entrance. A few minutes before the clowns would take the stage, the same security member who allowed me to get on his box told me to head to the pit and get ready.

The intro started to play…the lights started to come on….and Violent J appeared as the crowd blew up!  The show had officially begun. Within a few minutes he was joined by Shaggy 2 Dope. Normally, they tend to hold off on spraying Faygo until after the photo pit clears. This time they did not wait that long. By the second song the Faygo was flying and I could not have been happier! They moved right along and performed the full “Riddle Box” album song by song.

I was able to be up front for the intro and 3 songs. By the time I let the photo pit, I was covered in Faygo and feathers, and could not have been happier! It’s always a blast being up front!  I moved toward the back so I could snap more photos and just enjoy the rest of the show.

During the show, J and 2 Dope invited the lovely Juggalettes up on stage during Lil Somethin’ Somethin’. Check out this image.

The show was moving along at such a quick pace that before long “I’m Coming Home” had started and the Juggalos started to flood the stage.  Faygo Armageddon had begun. I was hoping to capture it with my GoPro, but for some reason it did not want to turn on right away. I was able to capture this footage though:

After the Faygo Armageddon  the show came to an end. I captured a few aftermath photos of the stage and floor. Here is a shot of the stage.

I went to meet up with my homie and some of us headed over to the merch table to see what was left. I quickly learned the two DVDs and one shirt I wanted quickly sold out…so I got the bone. After looking at all the shirts, I picked up a couple for me and one each for Linzie and Heather.

I stood there talking to the merch dude about me missing out on the DVD because I needed to get ready to snap photos. At this point he realized I was a member of Faygoluvers and he proceeded to ask me who I was. I told him I was PRJ and he thanked me and the whole FLH crew for all the hard work we put in.

At this point I met up with my homies and we all hung out for a little bit longer. Linzie, Heather and I changed our clothes, hopped in my car, and headed home from another great show.

I would like to thank Violent J, Shaggy 2 Dope, Billy Bill, J-Webb, and the whole Psychopathic Records team for allowing me to once again snap photos. I wanna thank J and Shaggy once again for putting on one hell of a show.

Thank you to the security of Upstate Concert Hall for being respectful and very easy to work with. See you at the next show!

Shout out and thank you Scottie D for helping me receive the photo pass and proofreading and editing this review so it’s readable.

Shout out to Linzie, Heather, Stalks, Reapz, Mason, Paul, Jeff, and all the other people I hung out with before, during, and after the show!
