City council proposing to limit Lost Lakes Amphitheater concerts

A rather unsurprising piece of news has surfaced out of OklahomaLacey Lett from KFOR is reporting that Councilman John Pettis has purposed some major changes to limit concerts being held at Lost Lakes Amphitheater.

Councilmen Pettis has gone as far as to threaten to cancel their lease for an adjacent property rented by Lost Lakes Entertainment. Councilmen Pettis is not happy with the fact that certain acts (Insane Clown Posse) coming to Lost Lakes are not family friendly.

OKLAHOMA CITY – A local city council is proposing to limit certain concert venues to three concerts a year.

Noise complaints are coming from a neighborhood in northeast 13th just east of Bryant near the Lost Lakes Amphitheater.

“People have complained that the concerts happen all night long,” Ward 7 City Councilman John Pettis said.

That’s why Councilman John Pettis is proposing no more than three concerts per year and only on Fridays, Saturdays and legal holidays.

“It’s not fair to this neighborhood that they have to hear these concerts way into the late hours, especially during the weekday when many of the residents over here work,” Pettis said.

So, the City is lashing out and threatening to cancel their lease for an adjacent property rented by Lost Lakes Entertainment, restricting city code for the privately owned property where Lost Lakes holds the concerts.

“Councilman Pettis would take the profit out of my client`s operation. You can’t get by with just three concerts in a summer season,” Eric Groves, attorney for Lost Lakes Entertainment Complex said.

Pettis also says the types of acts coming to Lost Lakes aren’t family friendly.

In particular, Insane Clown Posse; even though the band has performed there before with no problems.

“We received complaints dealing with the type of performers that they have. Some of the performers they have are not family friendly,” Pettis said.

“The entire park has family friendly activities. Some concerts are good for families. Others aren`t, but it is not the business of government to decide,” Groves said.

Lost Lakes attorney believes his clients are being unfairly targeted.

“The Zoo Amphitheatre is also in ward 7, so is Frontier City. Both have concerts in their neighborhoods yet nobody is suggesting their concerts should be limited to three times a year,” Groves said.

“When the first approached me in reference to doing concerts over here, I told them need to be good neighbors and they have shown they have no been good neighbors at all,” Pettis said.

Councilman Pettis tells us it will take one to three months to decide on the proposed ordinance.

He says he will push for the City to end its lease with Lost Lakes Entertainment.

This is the venue that is hosting the 2017 Gathering of the Juggalos. What are your thoughts about this? Will the Gathering of the Juggalos be one and done at Lost Lakes? Let us know your thoughts.

Three months to take effect? Lol, maybe next year suckers! Anyone shitting bricks over this should remember that the venue will pay any fines and be responsible for all consequences. They knew the risks when they started a business. They made the booking, they make a profit, it is going to be on them to deal with the locals. At ease, gentlemen.

    “Guest”…

    Your ignorance is “palpable”.

But far be it from me to start a unsanctioned “scuttlebutt”…

…with anyone who wasn’t going to a Gathering because they were concerned with Sigler jumping out of the water “Black Lagoon” style to rape their daughter…

Guess you haven’t thought of the bad press implications of a failed Gathering on the heels of a Juggalo March in the current political climate where THE LAST fuckin’ thing the FBI has got to worry about right now is some Juggalo Gang Designation…

    “Good talk, homie”

What else can be expected? If you venue next to a neighborhood, of course there will be complaints. If it was just a music festival, im sure they be quick to care less, or some country hoe down. Shit is noisy everywhere, your kids have already heard ‘fuck’ many times before, im sure and if not, they will. In more places than a Juggalo event too, thats for sure. The moms are problably upset because they got old and crusted with a loopy butt and a fupa and no one is down to fuck them, not even their skinny dick husband because he cant look at her anymore but will still take her side on ‘family friendly’ decisions because she will bitch at him if he doesnt, with the ‘ what will the neighbors think if we support this?’ bullshit and little timmy is just listening to his parents bitch about it wondering wtf is going on. Little timmy may even well be in high school blowing trees in the barn and shitdicking his homegirl and her homegirls, but a Juggalo event isnt ‘family friendly’.
Fuck shit pussy ass motha fuckin damm bitch!

Fuck your advisory. Eat a dick.

Perfect venue for the gathering would simply be the Rock/Country fest grounds in Cadott Wisconsin. ICP is playing there this July along with acts such as Mushroomhead, Korn, Stone Sour, Megadeth and Slayer. No local complaints from residents (never has been either as Rock fest has been happening for years now). Local authorities don’t seem to have any issue Juggalo’s (trust me on this, I wear hatchetgear when they are nearby and they treat me just as normal as anyone else). It is a huge venue with one main stage, 3-4 side stages, plenty of room for a midway and rides and an assload of campsites (non-electric unfortunately). IF….(PAUSE FOR EFFECT)…anyone has any connections to PSY or ICP, recommending this to them IS A MUST!!! I have already talked to the staff for the concert grounds and they said if the price was right, they wouldn’t have issue with the gathering there. After all, my recommendation for the gathering is one of the reasons they invited ICP there in the first place. Please pass this along to PSY or ICP if you have the capability. OUTTIE

As much as I boost cadott fest grounds up…all true wishes be told…they really need to get back to Cave In Rock.
