Dread Central Debuts Kissing Candice’s Brilliant Industrial Tinged Cover of Michael Jackson’s Thriller

Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” is such an iconic 1980’s era single! It still receives constant radio rotation to this day, especially during the Halloween season. The video for “Thriller” is a zombie dance horror masterpiece in its own right. Currently near 550 million views on YouTube.  Horror legend Vincent Price delivered such genius frightening wordplay inside “Thrillers” pop single season of the pumpkin sensation, his words are still capable of sending listeners into a graveyard coma!  Which is why (New York) Horror Metal Titans, Kissing Candice, covering “Thriller” makes total sense. Their industrial tinged cover is a tad shorter than the original (it doesn’t draw out the beat or narration), but that’s what makes the cover work so well and keeps their version of the pop king’s smashing single deliciously damn catchy! Clean vocalist, Dreamer, absolutely shines within the cover and this could very well be his best vocal performance to date.

From Dread Central:

“Today, we’ve got a wicked cover of the famous song from Kissing Candice, who will be terrorizing the stage on the Summer of Screams tour. The band tells Dread Central, “We are all big MJ fans! We were watching the video for Thriller and it just clicked. The aesthetic and lyrical content of the song fit us perfectly so we decided to hit the studio with Zach Jones and put our own spin on it.”

Pretty cool. I’m not very familiar with Kissing Candice but, this cover sounds a whole lot like Powerman 5000.
