ICP Announces Just-Found Hell’s Pit Tracks Dropping at GOTJ: Hell’s Cellar!

Holy shit, Juggalos!

This is some of the biggest news we could possibly imagine dropping on the Juggalo World just days before Whoopstock!

While preparing for the Hell’s Pit show happening Thursday, July 19th at Whoopstock, part of the 19th Annual Gathering of the Juggalos, ICP was digging through the Lotus Pod archives and found a true treasure: 9 unreleased Hell’s Pit era tracks, which will be released at the Gathering of the Juggalos on the Day of the Hell’s Pit Show.

They’re calling this never-before-heard Hell’s Pit Era Album: Hell’s Cellar!

Holy shit! Holy shit!

Here’s the word straight from the clown’s mouth, via ICP’s social media, complete with tracklist:

JUST FOUND! A BRAND NEW ALBUM OF HELL’S PIT TRACKS IS DROPPING AT THE GATHERING! From 2002…Psychopathic Records Proudly Presents…HELL’S CELLAR! As we prepare to descend into HELL’S PIT for the first and only live performance of the dark side of The Sixth jokers card, we have been rocking asbestos suits and digging deep through the burning embers of the original studio sessions for this Darkest of Dark Carnival masterpieces. We found a tiny door in the studio floor….and opened it! Behind it we found an impossibly small staircase downwards, which led to massive canyon of trapped decrepit souls…In the center of this canyon was a rapidly moving river of hate filled lava…so we followed it to it’s source! Deep beneath Hell’s Pit, we descended into and discovered HELL’S CELLAR!!! A previously unimaginable destination of unspeakable evil. 9 NEW HELL’S PIT ERA TRACKS DROPPING AT GOTJ! Hmmmm, so these are all Violent J tracks? I wonder if this was actually supposed to be the EP that bridged Shangri-La to Hell’s Pit, or what was originally supposed to be released instead of, or before The Calm EP. But also, this will be the first and only performance of Hell’s Pit? Didn’t they say that about Riddle Box and The Great Milenko at the first 2 Juggalo Day concerts? I think it’d be dope to see a 25th Anniversary: Ringmaster Tour next year, with after parties at select shows where they then perform The Terror Wheel EP in it’s entirety. But all-in-all, this is Dope as hell.

I bet they’re not gonna pull that shit. I think a lot of juggalos can listen to an icp song and for the most part tell what era it’s from by the sound of J’s voice , flow, rap style etc

The point is that they knew about these tracks all along. They play them up as lost and rare but these are just throw away tracks they knew they could sell as a rarity album when the right time arose. Here that time is and juggalos take the bait hook, line and sinker. I bet they’ve got hundreds of tracks just like this.

Ever noticed at seminars how much stuff we all know about that J & Shaggy either have no clue about, have forgotten completely about, or just hadn’t heard about? I can totally see their being tracks recorded, and forgotten about. Prolly tracks that were left off the original album, like MML had.

And no fucking picture discs. One vinyl record. Black. With an awesome gatefold cover or just a regular cover with a dope sheet in it with lyrics and credits on one side and photos on the other.

Well obviously they have tons of unreleased tracks. The make 30-50 and the chop it down to make the record. Then definitely didn’t go to hell and back to find these as they imply, but it’s still cool. It’s also not a coincidence that they are just releasing them now. What better time, really?

I remember when Hells Pit dropped, ALL of the “juggalos” in my little town at the time couldnt stand it… Im pretty sure they all dropped their hatchet with age, so wackness was just an element waiting to reveal itself. But at that time, being the only one in the cirlce BUMPIN that shit till the cops came (youngster shenanigans) Ill never forget it. I was alone in Hells Pit, a bad point in my life, and this gave me the energy I needed to face plant my way OUTTA Hell. I still believe this is one of my top 3 albums from ICP, and that blows everyones ass in the grass, but to this day… No fucks given, & bumpin this masterpiece. Love this. And the message, to watch what steps you take, or you could end up there in Hells Pit. Its too fresh that theyre having a bonus song come out now after all these years. Cant fucking wait!!! (Cool story… I know.)

Hell’s Pit…the era I became down in 2004, other than just knowing who ICP was during their stint with The Oddities in WWE and then shortly later in wCw. Co-worker brought ICP up in a conversation one day, asked if I’ve ever actually listened to their albums. Said no, he lended me Riddle Box and Great Milenko that night, and that was the end of that story.

Not one of my favorite albums of theirs. Hell I liked the re mixed edition better than the original. I’ll probably listen to it if it is from that era but probably wouldn’t buy it. The artwork is pretty sick and like someone else said loved the logo.

They said it was unplanned and they just found them on violent j’s laptop in a folder named “joe’s nukes” they found 13 tracks, 9 are on hell’s cellar and 3 will be on 20th anniversary. One track wasn’t talked about, and I think I know why. If you.open your forgotten freshness 4 booklet and look under the song “feel so right” says it was a hell’s pit outtake.
