While we were at Astronomicon 2, myself and Chad T Carsten conducted an interview with The R.O.C.! If anyone has ever spoken to him, you know what a humble, down-to-earth guy he is. Yet he’s been involved in some of the wickedest, most devastating music of all time…both as an MC and a producer (among other things).
In this 19+ minute interview, Chad and I discuss a bunch of topics including:
- Family Life
- Touring
- Zodiac Mprint status
- House of Krazees (25th Anniversary, New Full-length LP, more!)
- Re-releasing Halfbreed albums and EPs
- Skrapz
- His final thoughts on “Digital Voodoo”
- Projects in the works (production, albums, etc)
- How social media took away the mysteriousness of this scene
- Being a part of Astronomicon
I’m personally extremely excited for some of those old school Halfbreed projects to get a second chance at life. Hopefully you guys don’t sleep on it! The possibility of a full-length House of Krazees album also has me hype! Check out this interview, and be on the lookout for a couple more (Blaze and Alla Xul Elu) coming very soon!

Family Life is top priority so dedicating time to the scene and the music is more challenging
Touring will be spot dates and mini tours, no full country tour plans
Zodiac Mprint status will have album completed this year but likely won’t release til next year, collaborating with godsynth on production
House of Krazees (25th Anniversary, New Full-length LP, more!) ROC wants to do a full length, but everyone is extremely busy so finding the time is difficult but not out of the question
Re-releasing Halfbreed albums and EPs will likely happen, lots of raw stuff a lot of people haven’t heard
Skrapz is mainly focusing on family life too, so they don’t talk much, but he’s also on board for releasing Halfbreed stuff
His final thoughts on “Digital Voodoo” he likes the album but hates some of the sound quality of it (more stuff noticed by people with sound engineering experience), really enjoyed doing all the features
Projects in the works (production, albums, etc) working more on production and engineering various projects, don’t think he got into anything specific
How social media took away the mysteriousness of this scene mentions how there is no mystery and that the “selfie era” basically with constant and instant access to everyone (mentions ICP) has taken away the raw fun and mystery/madness behind things
Being a part of Astronomicon brings back childhood memories, tons of fun and talks about the first person who invested into HOK after actually hearing a cassette of ROC and his cousin Evol.
I think that’s about it!!

basically nothing…
he doesn’t care if anyone knows he raps & likes being in the background
halfbreed being a flop
how zodiac mprint was formed over 10 years ago and has released exactly 8 songs with one being an intro
then they cut the interview short cause his lunch break was only a half hour

Bet appreciate it. Digital Voodoo is dope though. Dr. No is probably the best on the album imo. But dope shit once again thank you.

Its weird that after all this time Twiztid is always way too busy to make a HOK album but they have time to make a Triple Threat album and whatever that V5 thing is.

Hmm, you mean Twiztid doesn’t do something the fans have wanted for 20 years (aside from one official song) cuz they are too busy but wind up doing something else? Damn that sounds familiar. They will do what they want when they want. Funny how Paul said Twiztid wouldn’t be apart of another supergroup like they were with Dark Lotus. I’d rather see the return of SWK instead of V5.
