Bushwick Bill Solo Tour is ON! Geto Boys Gathering Performance Confirmed!

The touring news of Geto Boys and Bushwick Bill has been a bit of a rollercoaster over the past few weeks.  First, it was announced that the Geto Boys would be going on a nationwide tour called The Final Farewell, with the tour name being inspired by Bushwick Bill’s bout with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  About two weeks ago, Bushwick announced that he would be dropping off of this tour, effectively cancelling it in its entirety. He stated that the tour was exploiting his cancer diagnosis.

From Instagram.com/TheRealBushwickBill:

I didn’t like the title. Simple. It didn’t speak life into my situation, but instead promoted the idea of impending death. I believe in the power of the tongue and speaking things into existence (whether you intend to or not.) If the tour was speaking life and good health, cool. But if I got on stage and performed, then I’m basically agreeing that I’m starting a journey on a “long goodbye”. That’s not the energy I want to put out there. I refuse to even entertain that thought. And anyone who genuinely cares about me wouldn’t support nothing of that nature either. I’m going to fight this cancer 💯. And with your support and prayers, I’m gonna beat it too. #GoodVibesOnly
Be on the lookout for the “Phuck Cancer” tour which kicks off June 8th in Dallas,
Texas . @realdawn_p@tmz#FuckCancer#PhuckCancerTour#bushwickbill#getoboys#awareness#music#news#tmz#theshaderoom

As stated above, Bushwick announced a Phuck Cancer tour, and the only date I found was on June 8th here in Dallas, TX!  For tickets to that particular show, click right here!

You can find out more about Bushwick’s status via AllHipHop.com!

Finally, I reached out to confirm that even though the full Geto Boys tour is no longer happening, their Soopa Gathering appearance is still scheduled to go down!  Don’t miss this performance if you’re making it to Shimmer Forest!

Obviously, we wish the best for Bushwick, and hope that he makes a full, speedy recovery!

I don’t know about that excuse, is Bushwick aware that they could just simply change the name of the tour so it isn’t in reference to his cancer? Seems more logical to do that then cancel the whole tour.

I read that it was more than the whole vibe of the tour was sold as being the “Final” tour and he didnt want to be sold as a charity case being sold as “dying” when he still believes he could beat it. I imagine its more the people who were booking and managing the tour and how they were exploiting his illness, rather than just putting on a positive reunion thing.

That actually makes alot more sense the way you explained it. Hopefully they can manage a full reunion tour sometime after Bushwicks solo tour.
