Horror Icon Sid Haig Unfortunately Passed Away At Age 80 RIP

We here at Faygoluvers.net are saddened to report that horror icon Sid Haig unfortunately  passed away this past Saturday. He was 80 years old. Haig’s wife, Susan L. Oberg, announced his passing via Instagram: He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be. He adored his family, his friends and his fans.”  Born Sidney Eddy Mosesian July 14th, 1939, the son of an electrician, the Fresno, California, native first broke out within the entertainment world as a drummer (Yes, a drummer!), recording the No. 4 oldies rock hit “Full House” with the T-Birds in 1958.

Soon after Haig appeared in more than 50 films ( 350 television series), ranging from Bruce D. Clark’s  1981 film”Galaxy Of Terror” to George Lucas’ 1971 film “THX 1138” to the 1971 James Bond film “Diamonds Are Forever” to Quentin Tarantino’s 1997 crime film “Jackie Brown,” acting as a judge in a role written specifically made for him. But Sid’s best remembered for his work in low-budget films, particularly horror films like director Rob Zombie’s trilogy “House of 1000 Corpses,” “The Devil’s Rejects” and “3 From Hell.”

As most know in the Rob Zombie trilogy, Sid famously portrayed  Captain Spaulding, the clown-makeup-wearing patriarch of the murderous Firefly family and the proprietor of a Museum of Monsters and Mayhem. He was a super-talented individual and was always honored and happy to meet fans at conventions worldwide. Scottie D, my friend Kim, and I were thankfully able to briefly meet Sid Haig at Astronomicon 2019 and he showed nothing but fan appreciation and was super down to Earth!

RIP SID HAIG YOUR TALENT SHALL LIVE ON FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS AND MINDS!

RIP to a horror legend. Met Sid on the streets of Woosta, Mass each going in our separate directions. He took time to BS with the wife and I and was generally happy to be talking to fans. (Coincidentally, I had gotten a Spaulding tattoo that day!)

My favorite thing about this post is that a dude died and instead of people paying their respects or mourning the guy, they still just want to piss and moan about Twiztid

Met Sid once, and sadly I am in the minority it seems, as I had a terrible experience. Texas Frightmare Weekend horror-con in grapevine, the first one in 2006 to be exact. It was me, the wifey, and our kid who was 4 at the time. We finally got to Sid after about an hour line and he sees the kid and asks if he has seen house of 1000 corpses yet, our kid says no, and he says “then what the fuck are you doing in my line then? NEXT!” and proceeded to ignore us completely until we walked away with no autograph/photo or anything. We said fuck it and had a 30 minute talk each with bill mosely, irwin keyes, and tom savini right after that lol. Granted I have no idea if he was having a shitty day, maybe the first time newbie convention didn’t pay him or have his rider/terms met, maybe his cat died that day or something. idk, but from videos, pics, stories I have seen and heard, he was actually a really good dude. Sucks we don’t have a fond memory of him, and it still made me tear up when I heard after work. The boy is sad too even with all that.

    RIP Sid

The homie used to be his neighbor. Did tons of cocaine in Pasadena together like 2 years ago. R.I.P. Sid.
You were and still are one of the greatest.
