For those that somehow don’t know. The underground vigilante emcee that is Daniel Jordan was once managed by Max Cavalera’s (Sepultura/Soulfly) daughter Roxanne Cavalera during his early career. Through out his influential independent career, Daniel has rocked shows with Esham (E. even released Daniel’s classic LP “The Stranger” through his RLP label) Mac Mall, Kung Fu Vampire and even Twiztid. Truth be told, Daniel was once offered a record deal through Kid Rock. But he turned it down due to a shitty contract. Mr. Jordan also did a few tracks with the legendary Dolemite (RIP). Which led to him being personally knighted by Rudy Ray Moore. And Daniel being part of the only collabo between Blowfly (RIP) and Dolemite entitled “I Live 4 the Funk”.
We here at Faygoluvers.net are mad hyped by the rad fact he just dropped a brand new heart ache filled single for the Halloween season titled “WHAT AM I GOING THROUGH?”. And its lyrical content was deeply inspired by the break up horror flick “Midsommar”. About the new harsh love single Daniel Jordan says, “New song for Halloween season inspired by the movie “Midsommar”. It is probably one of my favorite and most important tracks since the “Killed by Love” album. Produced by myself on my MPC, I spent a long time on it trying to make perfect.”

Now in regards to viral hip-hop sensation Tom MacDonald biting Daniel Jordan’s style. It’s like this. According to the Bay Area underground veteran, Daniel Jordan had several fans reach out recently, pointing out lyrical subject similarities between Daniel Jordan’s tracks “Everybody Hates Me” and The Illuminati Me Dead”. And Tom MacDonald’s tracks “Trying To Kill Me” and “Everybody Hates Me”. Daniel’s tracks were released between 2011 and 2014. While Tom’s tracks both dropped in 2019.

I’m a big fan of Daniel Jordan. I wouldn’t have given Tom McDonald any shine, if I were him, personally. I don’t think they are even nearly the same league. Actually a big reason why he’s a cornball is because he’s never said anything worth hearing he just strokes himself as some higher intellectual with subpar, fake deep bullshit. Same problem I have with Hopsin. It typically only appeals to the self righteous narcissists that want something to re-affirm their half assed self education. It’s actually quite lazy. If you really want something thought provoking and ‘mentally healthy’ you should check Lupe Fiasco. I can nerd out on secret meanings and theories all day on that. Like how I think Drogas Wave may be referring to the newer generation of hip hop being filled with drug addicts because the last generation of hip hop was full of drug dealers and how it ties very deeply into his themes of how our actions can have a drastic effect on the world around us.
Musically, looking past the corniness, Tom is a rapper of mediocre ability. He doesn’t have dope punch lines, no dope word play, his rhyme schemes and flows are basic and uneventful and ultimately I wouldn’t care he’d just be another basic rapper everybody forgets. His subject matter is what makes him trash. faux deep shock value songs exploiting cultural sensitivities with shallow attempts and trying to paint it as intellectual. That or he just bad mouths everybody as lesser or harmful while upping himself as, of course, the intellectual woke rapper of a higher essence while offering nothing that lives up to those claims. It’s no different from bragging about money and materials to me except at least those people don’t delude themselves into thinking they’re being anything more than what they are. Lil Yachty fans are very aware of how stupid and silly his music is and they revel in it. Unfortunately Tom, Hopsin, Russ and other rappers of their ilk tend to lack that kind of self awareness probably because questioning themselves would shatter the delusional self images they’ve built up.

Of course my opinion doesn’t matter in the context of his success.
But it matters enough for you to convince me it’s wrong.

Do I have to respect his hustle? Not really. What I was saying is when you evaluate how legit a true artist is I look at 2 things, his art and the drive behind it to create it and spread it. You can dislike his art all you want but then I asked if you could atleast recognise his true hustle in how he handles his business, the fact you can’t even acknowledge it shows one thing, you’re butt hurt about his lyrics or simply jealous that he is making 1000s upon 1000s of dollars for his art. I read you’re reasons for not liking his music and if you think that that’s fine, but he’s still extremely successful and has a significant fanbase.
And obviously…. because they post like 10 Twiztid posts a week and hardly on Macdonald. If they posted 10 Macdonald posts a week I’m almost certain you’d be there to try and tell the world all the problems you have with him.

All it shows is hustle. In fact, living in a capitalist world where the only thing that matters is our ability to make money, the hustle doesn’t prove any passion or dedication towards the art if the art isn’t good. If the hustle is there but the art is bad or mediocre or half assed or phony, like it usually is in Tom’s music, then it shows a passion for making money or fame rather than the art. Maybe that’s a concept you really can’t grasp. Well, you probably do when it’s convenient.
