In just 5 days, the 3rd annual Astronomicon convention will be in full swing at the Wyndham Gardens Hotel in Sterling Heights, MI!  My whole family is coming to Detroit with me (barring any catastrophic weather conditions like last time…) so we’re super excited to see everyone there!

I just wanted to take a minute to highlight some of the super fresh activities and events that you’ll be able to attend if you come out and see what Astronomicon is all about!

First, one of the most recent announcements is that Madrox and Monoxide of Twiztid will be appearing in character as Batman and Joker for a rare photo opportunity! This isn’t something that you’ll get a chance to do during a tour…it can ONLY happen at Astronomicon!  There are still photo opps available at Astronomicon.com!

Another event that to my knowledge is a first is the Clerks 25th Anniversary Panel!  I know we’ve got some Kevin Smith fans attending, so you can officially say you were there in person to see both “Randal” and “Dante” discuss the legacy of this legendary franchise!  That panel is happening from 1-2 PM on Saturday, so make sure you’re there early for that one!

There is also a panel that should pique your interest if you’re into horror movies.  Rob Zombie’s 3 From Hell just came out last year, and both Bill Moseley and Richard Brake will host a panel on Friday to speak on their experience with that movie, and the franchise as a whole!

One of the best parts about Astronomicon is that it’s kid-friendly!  There are so many fresh events for them including the Home Depot DIY Kids Workshop, the Kid’s Cosplay Contest, Kid’s Dance Party, and I know my son is especially excited about some of the video game tournaments that are happening!  He’s all about Super Smash Bros, so players beware!

And finally, to close out the convention, we’ll get to witness a LIVE session of Twiztid’s Ashtrays & Action Figures podcast!  It’s scheduled from 4-5 PM on Sunday, so make sure you stick around for that!
