Scumbag Superstar Presents is Re-Releasing Rare Q Strange Material. But Q Strange Doesn’t Endorse it.

Okay, we have all sorts of people in-boxing us and calling us to explain both sides of this situation with Rhode Island horrorcore legend Q Strange  and his music popping up online again. We want people to be able to get both sides of the situation. We just had a  phone to phone conversation personally with Mad Insanity Records. We were refreshed with more of the back history  details of  when Mad Insanity Records owned rights to some of Q Strange’s past material for over 15 years. We were told that recently D-Rocc of Scumbag Superstar Presents was given the rights to some of Q Strange’s back catalogue by Mad Insanity Records.  We were also  informed that D-Rocc is actually related to Q-Strange as cousins and D-Rocc dumped a bunch of money into Q’s project, but Q retired from music and no money was recuperated.

From Mad Insanity Records:

“Well, we gave it up to the parties that took interest into furthering the success of the Q catalog without any monitory gain because the projects have been abandoned for years without any push from the artist or Q himself. MIR took a wash on the projects because there was little to no artist support after the initial investment.

So when Q Strange’s family and private parties took interest, Mad Insanity Records washed their hands of the whole situation because it was the furthest thing in our interest for many years after the initial work ethic caused a loss in profit, which was to prepare hype for a new release. For months without contact phone calls or answered messages we completely cut ties from not only pursing sales of the project but the ambition Q had for his draft. We chose to move forward with the investments that brought fourth revenue to build not only the artists brand but the label as a whole.

D-Rocc as a Benefactor and a great friend and trust that he has every positive intention to make sure the name is available digitally for the fans that want to hear it and take what Q Strange has started and make it as continuing the legacy of family crest.”

In regards to Fayoluvers.net. When the flyer of the rare track “Under the Ground” was first dropped several of our readers pointed out the track was not new, as other social media music related groups/pages and some underground fans had said it was “new”. Soon after we were then also linked to this LAST FM playlist where “Under the Ground” (2004) is still listed to stream. https://www.last.fm/music/Q+Strange/New+And+Rare+Shit But then Q Strange himself came out of the underground shadows and made a post that stated he wasn’t involved with any of the content and merchandise being re-released.

No description available.

But as stated, Mad Insanity Records just recently gave up the rights to what they owned of Q Strange’s music and D-Rocc will now continue to re-release all of Q Strange’s material through Scumbag Superstar Presents. But Q Strange will not see a cent of any of the sales because as stated  by Mad Insanity Records, D-Rocc now owns the rights behind the music of Q Strange and D is trying to make the money back he lost. But in the end the choice is up to the underground supporters/our readers if they want to support any of the content/merch found at Qstrange.com released by Scumbag Superstar Presents. We wish no trouble from any sides. We just hope Q Strange will properly return on his own! We do apologize for any confusion or possible drama this situation has stirred.

I think the story back in the day was that D-Roc had won some money in the lottery and was financing his cousin’s music.

I never deleted any of your comments. The article was taken down because the first one was misleading and then both sides asked to take down the second one so both both sides could explain.

Q is probably my favorite artist of all time. I wondered what happened to him but would love to know the whole story. Didn’t he just put out some new music that sounded like he was coming back?

Q strange is the man. I got to mosh with him once. Watched D Rocc damn near flatten a girl when he jumped off stage. Strangeland is one of my all time favorite albums. Return to Strangeland is sick as well

It would be an insult to a great artist to keep the discography of Qstrange catalogue kept hidden from the world And to the millions of future fans …
