Rating: “**” (Whack-Needs Work) On the one hand, you have a great song! A pop song that’s double-dipped in late 70s R&B/Funk, with some impressive vocals. A half-assed, decent video to match the song would probably have him earning extra cheese on either the mainstream Pop or R&B or both formats on the radio charts. And that’s something that I hope they can take away from this review, as to what was done correctly (and damn brilliantly, too!)

Its too bad the video is such a failure. It isn’t until 2:20 into it, that it makes any sense and becomes something that accentuates the song. That’s the remaining fifty-two seconds left of a three minute, 12 second video. Here this man is singing about “waiting a lifetime” to be with his woman, but all the while, we get to witness his execution and burial? REALLY? It’s like watching Walt Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty” while listening to “Hurt” by Nine Inch Nails. What the fuck?
Didn’t anyone actually LISTEN to the song first?

An entire video of that last :52 of this otherwise demented, completely mindless shit would have garnered an “A” grade, as it could’ve introduce him to a wholly different audience altogether. Instead, this song is sacrificed by a video thats too disgusting for mainstream, yet serves no purpose to the song, so it leaves what fans they have to wonder exactly how much drugs or alcohol was involved, or if it were a simple case of someone not knowing what the hell they were doing in the first place! Grade: D-

You’re very welcome. My only hope is that you take what I said in the first paragraph of this review to heart. You have a true talent here; let that be your starting point and start over again. Find the concept behind the song and work with that artist’s strengths.
