Rating: “***”. Slaine is a good artist (and a notably decent actor) and yes, I am a fan of his. However, this is a “good” video and song, but not great because it feels too familiar. This type of video and the song’s message we’ve already seen before by other artists and with much stronger videos. I was expecting more to happen in that diner or maybe out on the street in those scenes. Not necessarily violence, but something else to tie it all together.
Self-evaluation is always the hardest thing for any human (let alone a recording artist) to do successfully; that makes this song an excellent effort on his part, but I think this video falls short of what it needed to be to drive his points home. Grade: C+

Wow. Thanks, man. I appreciate that a lot. The guys here actually deleted one of my comments, but they have to be careful about the way they say things. Then again, they maybe in-tight with the artist; who knows? Nevertheless, I’m sure they disagree with your assessment. But really, all I’m doing is being real about it.
