I don’t fully agree and that’s why you rarely see anyone repeat their purchase of a spot on these mixtapes. These people think it’s gonna be some kind of huge exposure because it has a flashy commercial and some “famous” underground rapper “hosting” but in reality, these things get barely any listens and when people do listen, they just want to hear the established artists.

They’re sold on the dream of featuring on something that’s popular and established, with the backing of some “underground legend” so they pay a ridiculous amount of money and literally get nothing in return.

I actually pre-ordered UGH #70 hosted by Alla Xul Elu. And to be honest, most of these who pay for the spots – all the artists you probably never heard of – sound like shit. I listened through the whole thing once and actually regretted the decision to buy the CD and to spend my time listening to it. The established artists delivered good work imo, but all the no-name rappers ruined it. Also surprised it goes on for 75 Volumes.

This sounds like one of those phrases that awakens sleeper agents. Something that never has or never will be said again, by another human.

I’m sure R.A.M prolly paid for a spot on one of em’ 8 years ago. I will say this about the UGH mixtapes- some of them end up going for decent money on ebay 5 or 6 years after they come out. The main reasons being they make a very limited amount of the real pressed cd version and then you end up with completionist fans of the established rappers hosting them wanting to own the real cd version of the mixtape. A lot of them end up being worth 50-100 dollars on the re-sale market.

The point of being on these is for promotional use for the most part. Mainly they are for the artist to have theyre name on a pro pressed product with an established artist. Its not UGHs fault most the people who submit to these pretty much suck. I remember when these started off. Fans would pay to get an artist on straight up on support. The main idea was the artist to “hustle”

The product usually sucks though. Unless they connect it to an album. Last good one I remember being the one that came with the Heavy Hittaz 13 percent album
