I agree. This is not the sound that i expected from the clowns. Props to them for getting it released but to me i think it would have sounded better as a release from ouija.

Album is great. My only gripe is… did they pay for the beats? Why are there the “Devereux” and “Shaggy the Airhead… on the beeeaaaatttt” watermarks on so many songs? And MID SONG? I forget which song, but right between the last verse and the last chorus, it actually does the shaggy the airhead shit. Takes all the feeling out.

One Man Kru posted a hour and a half video of his instrumentals on what YYB would have sounded like with his music. But ICP only chose 2 of his beats, but I thought his stuff sounded interesting, and definitely had some stuff that I thought should have been used.

Everyone pays for beats. I can see how it would throw someone off, listening to a Joker’s Card. But it actually made me think that Juggalo artists and producers are linking up big time and getting their name out there more. Since Ouija Macc uses their beats, I already understood, and maybe ICP needs more than a few Go To people in case of a last minute beat.

Did anybody else notice the music for “gangsta code” is the same music from Boondox’s song “Moving on” from his album Abaddon? That’s weird to me.

Psychopathic owns the beat, so it makes sense.
Shaggy 2 Dope did a song called I Live My Life On Stage off of Book Of The Wicked Vol.1, and he uses the same beat from Untold/Unwritten off of Boondox’s The Harvest album.

You are correct on that. I like that song. It just surprised me that they would use that on a jokers card I guess.

I liked it. Some of it is a bit rough though. Some of the vocals are drowned out beat, just not balanced. You can tell they cut and pasted some of the vocals due to the (Idk the producer term) bubble/aura around the vocals as well.
I think this is due to StraitJacket having already mixed it? Idk tbh. But it was better that An Unlikely Prescription.

To all those bitching that the new shit is horrible and disappointing, you are entitled to your opinion. I personally think it’s the best move on their part changing shit up a bit. If every album kept the same sound y’all would be bitching that it all sounds the same and getting stale on a repetitive level. The same complex can be said for all the janky ass butt rock out there today. Can’t tell one song from another. But ICP, changes shit up and adds different flavor with every album. You may not like the taste of the flavor, but at least they aren’t being repetitive and redundant. I say kudos, and the album is dope af. Only real complaint I have is them recycling the Boondox sound. But even that is forgivable. I just feel y’all should be a bit more open minded at the evolution of the sound. But if you are an old shit purest, good on you too. Whoop whoop fam

I didn’t say it wasn’t a good album. I’m just disappointed because it’s not the sound i was expecting. It was leaps and bounds better than Lure but nowhere near as fresh as FFF or Flip. MMFWCL

Evolution of sound? You seem desperate to be into the album. Plus, it’s rap; they hand select pre made tracks from outside sources. With so much dough and so many choices you’d think each track would be dope. I remember them dropping Phantom and loving it immediately. There was no listening and trying to convince myself it didn’t suck. That was the last release I can recall loving and it wasn’t even a major release. Before that it was the last Lotus. Last two joker cards are the two worst out of either deck. Oh, besides Shangri La. They might’ve had the best time of their lives in that era but it was far from the best music they dropped.

I liked a few songs towards the end, the shit about the flower sounded cool. I like they keep throwing them old school tag lines. I wasn’t really into the boondox beat on icp or them cutting to a Richard Cheese song. Ain’t got very many bangers on it. FFF was better, hopefully after 4 eps and this LP there’s enough for a good run through.

I think “don’t touch that flower” is the best song on here.
