Jelly Roll Admits to Shedding Tears Upon Being Featured Within Eminem’s “The Death of Slim Shady”!

As most probably know.  Eminem and Jelly Roll have created a monster of a tear jerker collabo single, through the closure of Eminem’s new instant classic LP “The Death of Slim Shady”,  entitled “Somebody Save Me”! Eminem has a knack for sampling powerful hooks to create timeless music. Especially for his haunting November 2000 “Stan” single, which brilliantly sampled pop singer Dido. And this time, it was  a huge dream that finally came true for independent Nashville, Tennessee super star, Jelly Roll!

As the Slim Shady Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of famer radiantly sampled Jelly Roll’s  2020 “Self Medicated (Strange Music)  underground favorite single “Save Me”. Further catapulting Jelly Roll towards new soaring successful heights.  Recently, Jelly Roll admitted across social media that he was brought to tears from the subject matter of surviving “battling inner demons” for Eminem’s super personal “Somebody Save Me” album closer. With  Jelly Roll being sampled for the soon to be mega hit,  “Somebody Save Me”, the song instantaneously latches onto your heart strings, thanks to Eminem’s emotional raw delivery meshing greatly with the heartfelt chorus, “Somebody save me, me from myself, I’ve spent so long living in Hell, They say my lifestyle is bad for my health, It’s the only thing that seems to help”.

Here is precisely what Jelly Roll stated.

From Jelly Roll:

“I always say my childhood hero’s lived somewhere between Willie Nelson and Eminem, “As a teenager (and still today) I could recite every song on the Slim Shady album, the Marshall Mathers album and the Eminem show.”

“When I bonded out of jail at 17 years old and was sneaking into cyphers and battles in Nashville they would also play the ‘lose yourself’ beat when I came out on stage at the freestyle battles. I related to every word Eminem wrote. I understand him and felt like he understood me, which was rare cause I spent most of my life feeling misunderstood.”

“So you can imagine how I felt when I got that the call that Eminem would be sampling my song ‘Save Me’ on his new album . And for him to use the song to discuss the other side of what could’ve happened if he would’ve allowed his demons to win, brought me to tears.”

I thought it was a lame move to sample his biggest hit. He’s just trying to ride the success of it. He easily could’ve just worked with Jelly on something original. The new Em album is pretty forgettable. Of course he is always going to be rapping elite. But the songs don’t have much replay value
