I remember that thread, one of the best ever on hereI remember you saying that to about your Aunt. Some people just can't get by that part. Stephen King writes about evil shit that goes on in the world, I don't see him promoting it though. If she thought that was bad have her read The Library Policeman.

I will have to say Dr. Sleep was overall an entertaining book. The only parts that I didn't love were around the middle portion. I must be just been tired (I was lol). But I loved a lot of the characters. Abra and Rose the Hat are sure to go down as classic Steve K characters.
I was enamored with the story's beginning quarter or so. I am a father of two daughters, and I could relate to a lot and it tickled me. I loved the truth in the tension between Momo and Dave, Abra's father. Reminded me of my feelings toward my mother in law.. the psychic stuff when Abra is young was just really cool to me.
I won't spoil much more, but I also enjoyed how certain villains were "RV people". It was hilarious in a way yet unsettling enough tokeep things interesting. Add to tthat some heartfelt moments, like the ending, and a few cool resurrections of things from The Shining, and we have ourselves a solid King book.Read The Shining first though.

John Cusack wants to play ol' Danny Torrence in the "Dr. Sleep" film, if there ever is one! He seems like a very good fit to me. Not the best, but good enough. He was good in King's "1408" (I think that's the title)

Okay, I saw "Dr. Sleep" last night! I-
Oh yeah...!
Okay.... I went to the movies solo last night and saw "Dr. Sleep".
Wow! Very fucking good. The only drawback is I felt that the last third got a bit outlandish but I feel like that part will actually be the part viewers love most.
Best parts to me: excellent casting (Rose the Hat was BETTER than expected.. wow!), great score and sound, pacing was about perfect. A couple Easter eggs within.
I recommend reading "Dr. Sleep" first. The movie was even better than the book, in ways.
Anyone else see it?
Also, "Gerald's Game" was great. All hail the King!

Our movie reviews cant be more different.
It was just another horror movie and an odd one at that. Monsters Inc also bottled the screams and scares of children.
Rose the Hat, Crow Daddy, and Grandpa Flick i liked. The other characters just didnt have that something. The Shining had that eerie 'whats around the next corner' feeling thru the whole movie. This one was more in your face horror.
I think it was just a little over the top, in your face horror. They made The Shine seem like Scanners. 'I can read your mind harder'.
It wasnt terrible, id probably watch it again, but i thought it was just meh.
I noticed last night The Joker is in HD now and It Chapter 2. How did you like those two?
Also, how do you have so much time to read, forum, work, drink, watch movies, and still know every bit of music ever made? Your my hero, dude.
Yeah bitches, im that short gentleman mentioned in that youtube video.
And the very nice, level headed guy from that other youtube video.

Over the top towards the end, agreed, as I had mentioned.
If you read the book first, it makes it much more interesting. I wouldn't have watched it without reading it first.
Never seen Joker or It Part 2. I was going to see the latter but it didn't work out. And Jay and Silent Bob isnt even playing anywhere I dont get that one.
And I don't have time at all. I just sneak these forum chats in on breaks at work or prior to. I am always busy with work and family. I honestly don't read much anymore. I read between 2-5 books a year on average. As far as the drinking, I've mastered that one pretty well. I drank 3 beers last night after a 12 hour shift. And I've never been late to work. Its just a force inside me I guess. I may suck in many areas, but at least I'm honest and punctual to a T.
I also decided just recently to try and get back into movies. Mostly that was cus I was trapped in that little apartment for four months. Now I am moving into a trailer and my habits will shift. The only constants with my habits are family, work, beer and weed.
What im saying is, for someone with so little time, I am doing pretty well. Thank you for asking.

Hope you didn't take that as me giving you any shit. You just seem pretty well educated on many topics. I know you have a family and its impressive you get so much done and still have the time to be a family man. Kudos for real!
Hows the new place working out, so far?

Long story short... we are grateful to be away from the mini celebrity cunt at the apartment.... new place is fine but dirty. Dog shit and rampant goathead plants in yard etc. But we are getting there.

I watched a youtube video yesterday before the movie of '10 things you should know before watching Dr Sleep'.
I didnt know there was a 3 part series in 1997. Were about half way thru that. It has more pieces of the puzzle.
They each have a different room number for the lady in the bath. What was it in the book?
