The way that I envision them is hard to describe, they're nobody famous Ialways envisioned Roland with long hair too, even though the cover doesn't. You can't really shape how things shape up in your head, you know? But you're definetly right about how they should look, rugged skin, pock marks, dirt stuck to skin. Eddie would be a great screen character man, he's one of my favorites. I've never seen Breaking Bad so I can't say, I can't even think of anyone off the top of my head that would do the character justice.

I didn't know anything about this. Movies, TV Shows, etc. What we have in our favor of them being cool is, Stephen King LOVES The Dark Tower series as much as we do. Look at the wind through the keyhole, he can't stop!! Hopefully he wouldn't allow a mediocre Movie or series to come full circle and get put out. I hope so, I can ignore all the other bad or just plain horrible adaptions, making The Dark Tower into another adaption like The Stand would just be a shame.

Yes!! Good call man, John cussack was great in that movie. Kathy Bates is Chilling as Annie Bates too, imagine waking up to her standing over your bed with an axe? Fucking crazy!! 1408 Iactually liked more than the story, which was also good. I thought the movieput more into it and went further with the story. Shawshank was like that too. Story was good, movie outdid it I thought. That doesn't happen too much. if you haven't read/seen Apt Pupil, check that one out. I have a feeling you're really gonna like it. Little known Stephen King story/movie that's worth checking out. Trust me homie

Yes! theres more good movies of his than I thought.I Loved kathy bates in dalores claiborne also. Stand by me was a pretty fresh one too. Apt pupil is that a short story? about the kid who goes nuts and kills his mentor and then takes a rifle to a place overlooking the freeway? Or the really short one where the kids on a college campus and just starts sniping people? Its hard to remember all the shit you read over the years sometimes. Was it the book with "the body"(stand by me) and "rita hayworth and the shawshank prison"???

ok I just looked it up and it came flooding back. He helps his mentor with killing a hobo he doesn't kill his mentor. My memory isn't always reliable lol. I guess he doesn't go on the killing spree at the end in the movie?

Well, it wasn't really his mentor. The kid in the story was really smart, and he figured out one of the old men who lived in his neighborhood was actually an on the run nazi from WW2. So he black mailed him into telling him sick shit about the holocaust, stuff that nobody would know unless they were actually there. That in turn made the boy crazy, and the old man started going crazy again as well. Then he started killing hobos on the way home, slowly going crazy. They did change the ending though. At the end of the movie he threatened his guidance counselor with child molestation threats instead of shooting him and heading for the freeway. Great story man,and yes, it's in that same book, it's called Different Seasons. You know all the good shit man

Did you know there's a sequel to The Shining coming out next year? I think it's called Doctor Sleep. It's about the little boy from The Shining, Danny is all grown up and still totally weird and fucked up. I can't wait for that one man, you heard anything about that one?

Yeah I heard about that and am stoked as fuck. Also one about a serial killer  in an amusement park coming out too.(Dean koontz tackled a similar story called "the funhouse") Can't remember the name of that one. I didn't really care for his new book 11/22/63 about the jfk assasination. You read that one? I bought that bitch the day it came out but it just seemed dry to me. Good ending and all but not one of those you read in 2 or three sittings

I'll be honest, I did like 11/22/63. I liked that he brought up Derry again, "It" is my favorite Stephen King book probably. It wasn't just that though, I enjoyed that one. I can see why you might feel that way though, my step father felt that way too. I admit it's far from his best and wouldnever recommend it to a non King fan if they asked what was good, but I still liked it. The only book that I didn't like at all was Lisey's Story. You read that? If not avoid it I don't recommend it at all. It borrowed story elements from a much better book of his called Rose Madder, and just seemed like a book that maybe his wife forced him to put out. It wasn't just bad, it was horrible. Beyond that, no complaints really

Just thought of something, The Talisman. He wrote it with Peter Straub. It's honestly up there with It and The Shining, not a lot of people have read it but it's a great Stephen King book if you've never read it. There's also a sequel to it called Black House but read The Talisman first. You'll love that shit.

I do love that bev and richie make an appearance in 11/22.  Im like you theres only a few I haven't read."from a buick 8" "bag of bones""the regulators"(did read desperation) "Black house" and "the talisman" among them.  Isn't the crimson king in that one?

I have liseys story but never sat through it for whatever reason. Rose Madder is another good one too, a take on that old greek myth the minotaur in the labyrinth. And the lady in white mentions gilead if my memory serves me.

Bag of Bones is good, for some reason when I read Duma Key Iwas reminded of Bag of Bones. I can't tell you why though without fuckin it up. It's good though. From a Buick 8 is worth reading too. When I first read it I was disappointed, but liked it much more the second time around. I think the first time I just expected another classic and what I got was From a Buick 8. The second time I didn't expect much and enjoyed it. The Talisman has the crimson king in it, was a really well thought out book, it actually gets better everytime that I read it. Black House I only read twice, it's good but doesn't come close to the first one.

And you're right about the minotaur in the labyrinth. Holy shit, I forgot all about that! Props on that one dude. That's weird that you said that about The Regulators, I read desperation too but never got The Regulators. They came out on the same day and have something to do with each other, but I'm not sure what it is. Was the evil called ka in Desperation? I can't remember (loved the cop in that book, dude was fuckin crazy). Whatever that evil in the book was called, I think that's the connection.

Duma key and bag of bones are both about lonely artists right?. Ones a writer and ones a painter. Both isolated and secluded. Duma key was a decent enough book from what I remember. Which is not alot, just he could paint things into life, and his friendship with the mexican dude. only read it once.

I can't for the life of me remember the villian in desperations name. too lazy to look it up lol. But yeah they share the same villian. I think the regulators were the origin of the low men also.

The cop in desperation sort of reminds me of Big Jim Rennies son in "under the dome" dude just goes fucking bonkers lol. actually the husband in rose madder would fit into that category too. scary motherfuckers

Jim Reenie's kid (can't think of his name), was one sick dude man. Remember he had that cabinet full of dead bitches and he would just kick it in there? Norman the cop from Rose Madder was batshit too. You know all the good ones man. Looking at my books right now and Dead Zone is another good one. Gerald's Game too. Took time to grow on me but the premise to Gerald's game is frightening

Gerald's game is fucking terrifying to me man. And uncomfortable to read at times if you know what I mean. Towards the end  when she starts to see the man with long teeth with his black bag, I would shit my fucking britches lmao. That one is brilliant. Thats another book connected in a way. Not to the dark tower but dolores claiborne.  They both have life altering experiences during the same eclipse.

Dead Zone is another good one too. shit the list goes on and on

dude Gerald's Game caught me by the 2nd page and i was hooked, the events and characters in that book are crazy and they did trip me out when i was reading it in the dark of a juvenile detention center while i was working night shift. Wow great climax too. As far as The Dark Tower that is the best series of fiction that i have ever read it made me laugh cry and just run the gammet of emotions. The characters were so real man u really felt like u knew them its a great one. One of the things i really like about King is that he shows how powerful God is and the power of evil. Like in Desperation that kid is led by God and in The Stand  with the Hand of God doing some work. I really enjoy his work right now Im reading the Shining and the Jack character is so much like my own dad he has a way of writing very real personalities that just grab onto the reader. Rage is wild they should make a movie of it. Blaze is a really good read that touches you. I have read many of his books most of my book shelf is King then some Poe and other types of books that range from the supernatural to the religious to mystery. Not many people read in this day and age along with the many books on my shelf i also have an Ireader in which i have some L. Frank Baum and folklore and legends which i love too.

Norman from Rose Madder was a flippin maniac biting people and junk. It was great one of the most gruesome and real novels. Im glad people are reading still.

"blaze" was a good one. Reminded me of George and Lennie from "of mice and men". Really sad book actually. But yeah alot of his books are about that struggle between good and evil. Between "the white" and "the agents of discordia". All these protagonists fight indirectly with roland to maintain balance in the universe

I read alot of bad reviews about the way the Dark Tower ended but i thought it was perfect man. It was great i mean it was just the right way. I also like how everything is connected in King's world the events that occur in Derry to the Castle Rock stories. I dont know how he does it but it seems like a whole other alternate place to go to when u want to escape this world. I really like Eyes of the Dragon as well cuz the characters are connected to the Dark Tower as well. one of the greatest villains Randall Flagg man King has a great creative mind.
