Someone's gotta put out a documentary about the "Original" Simken Heights!!!! from Lansing Michigan!!!!
Where all da Simken Heights Affiliates who said they would preserve the Simken Heights legacy from Da L!!!!

I understand MASS doesn't want to be found for personal reasons but Mane, even if MASS is on dat "spiritual tip" it would be great to hear his stories of all the life lessons he has learned and experienced since leaving the Legendary Lansing Rap Group group that he and J Rome founded with Cap One.
Does the opening of this track remind you of the "Kingdom of the Shellz" and "Holy Water" narration!!!!!!!!

Much Props to "Bedlam" for attempting what he envisioned plus giving us the Simken Heights old (hip hop) school track "Learning to Fly" when J Rome was still alive.
If only a movie producer will put one of the Original Simken Heights tracks from the "Smoke Box" and "Kingdom of the Shellz" days on a well made movie soundtrack, then perhaps Simken Heights will get the recognition they so highly deserve.

TheRevWells, thanks for the link but unfortunately no. The link you sent me is either from Bad Mind or Cap One and it has none of Mass solo tracks from hs demo tape "Smoke Wizard" and BrainWater.
whether "agree to disagree", respectfully saying, being a native of Lansing Michigan while knowing the Underground rap scene in and around Lansing Michigan, any Simken Heights material released after 1996 was clearly not the Simken Heights sound. Smoke Box was re-leased in 1997 as this flier states so after 1997 the Original Simken Heights sound was no more.
This is why I search for the lost demo tapes from MASS . Ifthat were sold "supposedly" out da trunk. If only MASS had a facebook page to ask him questions but from what I heard and read on various forums, MASS left the group to take care of J Romes daughter and he went the Christian Church route so very surprising he never released a Christian rap album or even a gospel album since music was and is his passion.
There is one youtube account where this lady claims to know the Original Simken Heights but really no way to contact her.
Her account is Ms G Gonzalez and she has made comments on many of the youtube Simken Heights tracks.

Here is the flier from 1997 of the last "Smoke Box" that I assume was re-released in 1997.
The purpose of this thread is because I enjoy doing anything related to archives.
Cap One I understand has his own way of doing things but being from Lansing and having a great appreciation for Underground Rappers in my city, I am very curious to know the whole Simken Heights story with all the original katz who were around and a part of these Lansing Music Legends for the Urban Mid West Katz.
Really fun times back in the 90's and I just wish there would be more documentation on Simken Heights at the height of their rapping stardom in the horror rap scene but they also had a really nice Hip Hop sound on this "Learning to Fly" track before the wicked beats came into play.

If I am not mistaken, I think Cap One has Native American Roots
Being Gangsta is just a walk in the reincarnation wheel.
With time people change and realize one needs positivity in their life to grow spiritually.
Perhaps this is why "Mass" from Simken Heights found another passion in his life.
Just wish "Mass" would tell the story so other peeps and fans can hear it.
Many fans of the band "Korn" were transformed through Head and Fieldy telling their stories and just listening
to what their fans were going through.

Wishful Thinking or did I just find "Mass" avatar from the Original Simken Heights. Is this the "Synchronicity" event that "Mass" is returning to make music again. If anyone can contact him, fa sho let us know on this post. So curious to hear "Smoke Wizard" So will his new sound have a more ancient sounding theme with a pagan vibe. So curious to find out!

Because Mass is age 46, on facebook post a message to your Lansing homies if they can ask around the streets of Lansing to kats between the ages of 41 and 47 if they remember any mention of this mystery project “Smoke Wizard”
I am now being told it was not a Mass solo project but was an Original Simken Heights project while J-Rome was still alive that was never released because unknown kats have prevented it from being released but still I remember Mass calling himself BrainH20 on a midwest underground rap forum that was wiped off the internet so I need to get these facts straight from other katz!
I am sure many of the Simken Heights fanbase attended Eastern High school and Sexton High school so they should remember hearing about that specific Simken Heights project. Also, Everette high school.
Just do your research like I have done and continue to do.
With persistence, we might be able to get the answers that Cap-One has chosen to stay silent about meaning "Give us more detail!!! and closure for the dedicated Hard Core Simken Heights fans who are just interested in the Original Simken soundz!!!
Here is a clue: Look at the last name on the photo. So whose family member is it from the Original Simken Heights?
Is it one's cousin or brother?
