So I admit Igor Smith takes good photos at GOTJ. He does release some on his blog… but I can’t help but notice his new ad on FLH. I was aware he had an app, but was not aware it was aggressively marketed.
Here’s my question: Why does PSYgive him press credentials if he is taking pictures for private profit? The line between profiteer and media is blurred pretty hard here if you ask me. PSY lets him into GOTJ for free so he can wander the grounds, take naked pictures of Juggalettes and then sell them back to us? Full blown gay. If he was working for a media outlet that’s one thing, but he seems to be sourcing these pictures wherever he can turn a buck. Zero journalistic integrity in the classic sense, just profiteering. Nothing wrong with that I guess, just make him buy a ticket and fight for floor position like everybody else.
Maybe I’m being overzealous. Can anyone put this into perspective for me?

I agree with you, but I guess hes done a good enough job marketing his skills to whoever give out press passes to get one. Scottie D is running this site for profit, and he gets unequaled access to most things PSY. Granted he beyond all shadow of a doubt deserves it given his tenure and effort, but it all comes down to who can convince the holder of the passes that they will accurately portray the gathering in all its debaucherous splendor.
If someone would give me a press pass, I as well would try to sell the pictures I obtained with that pass in a heartbeat. I personally see nothing wrong with such actions. I however also have no journalistic integrity. I believe that disappeared the day Twitter came online. In short don’t hate the player hate the game I guess.

I’m more offended by the access he is given to make profit than the actual money he makes. I’m all for people making money, I just don’t understand how what he does is journalism. I don’t understand a lot of things so this is just business as usual.
