So is your name based on the novel? or just the word in general? Never read his books but I do dig his movies

That reminds me cabal, you ever get started on that dark tower series? I remember you tellin' me you were reading “on writing”…How was it and did it help with the script you were tryna write?

It was a good read and helped a lot. I'm reading Hell's Angels again by Hunter S. Thompson but I did buy the first dark tower book and I'll read it next.

That seems like it'd be a dope movie. I love cheesy old school horror flicks. The trailer reminds me of this 80's horror movie called “Demons”.It's about people getting trapped in a movie theater with a bunch of demons. The death scenes in that movie are way ahead of their time.
I've always wanted to pick up thompsons books (kentucky boy!) but never got around to it. Fear and Loathing is in my top 5 fav movies of all time. Dude created his own style of writing which is really dope

staying off topic here, hells angels may be hunter s thompsons best book, all in all. straight reportage, not so gonzo, but you get a more objective, all-encompassing understanding of the hells angels [the 1960s angels, that is]. the gonzo books, you get hunters view only, for the most part.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

I would think i'd love the books from his perspective. If they are anything like the narration in fear and loathing that is. Tortured artists are always interesting to me….

Speaking of Stephen King Im reading The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon and its off to a good start a girl torn between her divorced ripped parents and an angry brother gets lost in the woods after straying from her arguing brother and mother out facing the elements and other opposing forces. Pretty good it grabs you from the get if you like stories about dysfuncional fams.

That could have something to do with the fact he could relate to them and their understanding was similar to his. According to him he was made an honorary member. He's said himself the gonzo style just happened over time and he isn't even sure if he intentionally did it. The Rum Diary was a fiction novel but you can see himself in that character big time, and the style is similar to his reporting he did years later.

He's one of the greatest writers of all time. The narration is Hunter and Johnny Depp was playing him. That's only half of who he was as a person, though. Read anything of his and check out the documentary on him “Gonzo”. It's very well done.
