for real, though, the american government could be doing a lot better.
in fact, just shorten that to, 'we americans could be doin better'.

Ours or the worlds governments as a whole? For one thing we are heading towards a controlled market as opposed to a free one. Too much governmental interference. I believe our country is too big to be ran like that and we need to rely more on state level governments. Exporting our jobs overseas all so a company can save pennies on the dollar, which is fine for them but bad for the economy.
Our healthcare system, which is built on sickness instead of wellness. You gotta have insurance or a lot of hospitals won't accept you.Even if you do your insurance looks for reasons not to cover you. They have panels of people looking for reasons to deny peoples claims. So BOOM one car wreck or a baby and you are up to your neck in hospital bills.
How about our college education system? You have to be willing to go thousands upon thousands of dollars in debt in order to get anywhere unless you are born into money or can play a sport. Why keep it privatized? Why shouldn't education be a priority and everyone get one for free? We aren't nearly the smartest country in the world anymore if we ever where. Same thing goes for public schools. We need to spend more time with our children like they do in japan.
Debt in general…Debt to banks, hospitals, schools, car companies, rent-a-centers, court system etc. We rely too much on making money off of interest..
To be fair though it's a lot of the citizens fault. After all that's the american dream, buying shit we dont need with money we dont have.
We lease 20,000 dollar cars that we can't afford cuz we don't wanna be seen driving a 94 buick.
We mortgage 250,000 house we can't afford because we are too good to live in apartments, small houses, and trailers.
If we all were fiscally responsible for ourselves and lived within our means these big bankers and lenders wouldn't have anything to hold over our head. Yet we have to have credit to get anything in this world.
I think that is key right there. Everyone personally taking responsibility for their lives. Don't get a credit card. Or if you do get it cut it up and watch your credit score go up.
When it boils down to it…Less government is better for me
There's a gateway in our minds
That leads somewhere out there, far beyond this plane
Where reptile aliens made of light
Cut you open and pull out all your pain

We are a sinking ship.We had a good ride.Government uses religion, media like tv,movies, music, videogames to control and manipulate people into thinking and acting a certain way. They control pretty much everything.I just dont care anymore to be honest, nothing we can do about it anyway. Not better anywhere else in the world either.Less government is better but its too late for that.

I think our national government could be worse, obviously. Our people have more liberties than North Korea, and are more secure than South Africa.
If I ever really get fed up with the US, I'll just get my ass to the Canadian border which lies a whole fucking ten minutes to the north, legally or illegally, I know how to get in there.

Somebody made a statement in the Death Pop thread that religion (not the topic of discussion) & government (the topic of discussion) is the reason why we're “fucked” as a society.
If you have any input on government give it.
As usual, someone who knows what's wrong with everything gave the vaguest reasons why. I like that you started a new thread instead of trying to turn that into a debatable convo.
Democracy is supposed to be the best government man has thought up to date. It's for the people and admits it's only fault is creating unequal classes of people. It is no way in favor of the people, so therefore, it's not the best type of government or it's been infiltrated.

We only have more liberties than those undesirable places to live because we created them and all their shitty conditions – to take their natural resources, and create have cheap workers to make all our shit, cheap. It's the same globalist system Ancient Rome used to live by….and we all know what happened to them.

This is a method of control. It's considered the mafia when the government isn't doing it.

It's not too late for less government…we just can't have a dictator for president for starters…..It should fall upon the states for most of governing but in this day and age that's not the case….The people that we have elected in office want big government with big salaries and everything controlled by the them (the government) and so many of the citizens want that too. Which is why so much is federally controlled as opposed to being controlled by the state. Next thing will be a global government….In a capitalist society how do we expect all of these entitlement programs, government jobs, etc to be paid for in the first place….we are so far in debt that it's going to be hard to find a way out of it…and the next person in office will be blamed for the situation we are in by trying to cut programs and our 'misallocation' of funds…Now we depend upon the 'high' and 'middle' class (or working class) to pay for the 'lower' class and the government when the money isn't even there for ourselves or the amount that we are spending…but whatever we can just print more money and depreciate our dollar..or borrow some more money…and most just say make the rich pay for it….which is fucked up in my eyes because now you are demonizing the idea of success and the American dream because you don't have it yourself. The new american dream is to spend money you don't have to get things you want and don't deserve because everything should be given to you now because that's fair……I dunno…..lolz

Well I mean more state powers and less controlled federally…I dunno if that means less government…..we would still have a governing body just with more decisions made at a state level, now I'm starting to get redundant….I just feel that there is more they could be doing at a federal level and far better things they could be focusing on if they let the states control more….but who am I really to say what they should be doing….it's only a democracy…..and I do agree it creates classes but we put ourselves into those classes by what we do, there's always the freedom to change and do something different with yourself unlike most other places

Also maybe less government in the sense that there are less people holding such high salaried positions…that would put a nice dent in the national debt…..maybe less people governing too, but still a higher percentage of those people interacting with the actual population as well. So (and too) much time is spent on saying which party or person has done this or that and the other thing when we could be finding the problems and creating a solution. Which to me sounds very simple, but it must not be. Oh if only it were a perfect world…..

Perhaps if our leaders were paid a bit less. Maybe make them earn their money, lower their wages until they start doing better. We have to worry about that shit, why not them? Especially with the importance of their jobs. Can they even do that? Like, cut a congress man's wages? Plus, they still get money after they leave. Once you join congress it's a guarantee that you will be able to retire after.
On whether we have too much or too little government I'm personally split with my bipolar self. On one hand the government is forcing people to be something that they don't want to be. Comparing us to other countries with less privileges is just settling for less than what we are supposed to be. This country was created so we can be what we want, do what makes us happy. I don't see too many people being what they want or doing what makes them happy and I see tons of things that prevent that from happening.
On the other hand, the people let this happen. Sometimes I look out at all the stupid fucks in this country and I think, do they even deserve freedom? People claim that we need to take a little more responsibility to be a little more free but how many people are willing to be responsible? We live in a country where the citizens treat each other like labels instead of individuals, we measures each others success by the amount of money and sex one has, and we rely on others to do the right thing instead of being that one person that will do the right thing. Even with the freedoms we have now we still don't use them responsibly. I've seen a man get hit by a car and nobody would even stop to let him get to safety let alone get out and help. Little 12 year old girls cutting themselves because their idol, Justin Bieber, smoked weed when their parents should be their taking responsibility and perhaps trying to stop the idolization. I know I've brought up Bill Nye's seizure he had in front of an audience and nobody called an ambulance, they tweeted about it instead. With all the fucked up shit I see, it makes me believe that we aren't really ready for the responsibilities of extra freedoms. I mean, if we were wouldn't we have been responsible to keep our freedoms instead of relying on others to do it for us?
There are tons of flaws with this government regardless. We spend so much money on an education system that doesn't work, somebody already mentioned medical system, the lying politicians and fake portrayals of these lying politicians in the media, the imbalance in power between the executive and the legislative branches, the way our banks try to enslave us, and definitely the fact that people are now starting to be thrown in jail for dressing a certain way and listening to a certain music.
Even then, how much of these things are the people at fault for letting happen do to the fact that we weren't responsible enough to prevent them from happening? Look at the juggalo thing; first off I'm am extremely surprised that people just don't give a fuck about this, a ton of people don't even know what's going on, second is that even when placing our issue next to the gay marriage issue people are more concerned about gays getting the financial perks that the government will offer to married couples than the lives being ruined by the feds just because of musical and fashion tastes. It really pisses me off when people obsess and get so passionate about two fucking people not being able to get married, because marriage is about the government perks rather than the love, but when it comes to me being at risk of having my life thrown down the drain over my taste in music people shrug that off like it's nothing. Fuck people.
