It’s 12:00 AM in Arizona and I am now 21
Just had my first legal drink (which is to say I took another sip of a bottle I opened a while ago)
And goddamn it feels good to know I’ll never need to ask someone else to buy me booze.
I’d like to also give a special FUCK YOU to the retards who raised the smoking age from 18 to 21.
That was just a repetitive inconvenience and exactly nothing else.
Anyways, I’m gonna order some more booze now.
Any reccomdations for a whiskey fan?
I always get whiskey but I usually just get either jack daniels, Jim beam, or the cheapest option depending how much money I have. Haven’t really experimented.

I would suggest some Evan Williams white label bottled in bond. Its 100 proof and usually 15-20 a fifth. Damn good bourbon for cheap

I think moonshine is the only way to get above that 95% alcohol content.
190 proof Everclear is available here in Texas so moonshine is not too popular here. I think it’s almost the highest alcohol content you can get through standard distillation due to the azeotrope point of water and ethanol being at about 97.2% ethanol. Everclear is at 95% so it’s almost as close as you can get.
If moonshine is rectified above 95%, you are losing so much alcohol in the distillation to extract the last few percentages of water that it may not be worth it. If you are ok with the diminishing returns, you can squeeze a few more percentages above 95% with moonshine with a massive loss in final product.

Process still confusing to me but ever clear is tied up there with it. I thought that was wheat tho not corn. Either way it gets you there just the same. Last I drank shine I ended up laying down face first in the field begging for mercy lol. It was awful but the hangover is still way better than a beer hangover I think haha.

I would think that 90% is enough, golly lol… 95% as well.
I’m a drinker but that moonshine shit frightens me. The only time I had it, we ended up at a Denny’s and I “came to” while I was doing a nonstop Bill Cosby impression to a table full of folks. This was like 18 years ago. Apparently I was on that night, they were laughing so loud we got thrown out. There might have been something off about the ‘shine too because it was yellowish. That seems to be a pattern with me. I got “bottom of the barrel” meth once, the only time I ever snorted it (I tried to smoke it once as well, it didn’t work for me.. so I have officially done meth twice and felt it once). It burned so bad in the sniffer.
Had a shot of rum last night, first liquor in forever. Salud!

The label says made with 100% American grain. ? Not sure what that means.
Luxco, the parent company for Everclear confirmed that it is derived from corn. (reference link)
Moonshine, though, has the added adventure of variability. Some have (post- and/or pre- brewing) added ingredients. Some popular “brands” of moonshine have signature flavors. Everclear is designed to be favor neutral.

Happy mudda fuggin birfday! If you want to try something that isn’t in the cheap category but not crazy expensive, try some lagavulin 16 (laga vou lin), or some glenlivet 12 (glen live it). Both are really good and smooth, but not $100 a bottle usually. Welcome to the land of the old!
