Sup juggalos.
Just wanted to start a discussion with y'all.
I don't really listen to ICP, and really only knew the stereotypes about them. However I saw a short documentary about the gathering, and your scene reminds me a ton of a scene I partake in.... Jambands. Mainly, lots of people on the fringes of society, judged by mainstream culture, that find community and togetherness around music and art, and love to party and rage out.
Now obviously jam band music is way different from ICP, but that's why I was so shocked by how similar the scene surrounding it seemed. Based on the documentary, the gathering reminds me a ton of Camp Bisco (disco biscuits festival) more than phish. Really similar vibe.
I've been listening to ICP lately. It'll never be my preferred genre, but I gotta say I respect it. Shit's very creative. The rapping isn't super technical, and the beats are enjoyable, and I laughed my ass off. You guys are so unfairly judged.
Have any of you been to a jam band show or fest before? What did you think?
