so just curious, anybody buying shares?

any reason one should be weary of doing so?

your thoughts on the general idea of the project?

Not sure who I would throw my money at (Not that I have any to throw). Two different groups trying to do similar things.

http://stillstabbin.com/ji.html (Juggalo Island) &

https://www.facebook.com/JuggaloRanchColorado (Juggalo Ranch Colorado)

Here's the interview from Faygoluvers about it:

I like and support the project, but $2 million seems nearly impossible.  I bought a few shares of my own, and even bought http://www.juggaloisland.net and pointed it to their URL so it's easier to find. Get behind it and spread the word!

Just did the same. I can't really spread the word since I am not on twitter or facebook or any social media sites except this one. I wish they had a more professional looking website. Its straight html. I really would like to see this happen. I wonder how many shares they have sold so far.

I'll contribute a few bucks to it. Perhaps.

From Darren Vick (Email I got from him):

I can get a better total later, but almost 2,000 shares sold.
Thanks,
Darren

Hello Homies, yes, I am one guy that posted it to my page. It happened fast, late at night, and by the time I woke up, we had hundreds. I know it is a long road. I look forward to meeting lots of family to find help where we need it. I don't want to run this thing at all, I just want a place to gather. I feel responsible to help this world out. ICP changed my life, and I have something to pay back. I think we need a place to gather, and to lift up the next generation. Without a good example, this thing won't last forever.

Darren Vick

Please don't be bashful to help everyone, I know my site sucks, my ad copy is terrible, and my videos are boring. But everyone is chipping in and helping. The face of the movement is all of us that gather.

Hmm, didn't know two groups were on this. I thought it was all the same guy I've been seeing do the progress reports.

If one million fans bought just one share, they'd be done with it. I like the idea and think the funding part would be the easiest part of the thing. The *legal stuff is where I think the roads would fork...

okay...

darren, youre a cool guy, so i dont really want to tell you this, but im extremely skeptical.

mainly, the math is loaded with assumptions.  the biggest being that there are a million juggalos, with disposable income, who are willing to get in on it.

i strongly doubt that there are a million juggalos, period.

you can fairly say 'if a million people put up two bucks each, well have two million bucks!'  the key word there is 'if'.

one could just as easily say, 'if twenty people put up a hundred grand each...'

yes.  if.

thats just the tip of the iceberg, as far as my misgivings.  there are many more things that need to be addressed.

but ive tried not to express myself too loudly, as i dont want to influence it negatively, just in case it does ramp up [have you plotted how long to meet the goal at the current rate?  its quite a while.  ramping up would be pretty much necessary].

as i say, @waffleshouseguy , i like you, i think your hearts in the right place, but honestly, enthusiasm is about the only thing these projects have going for them.  based on what ive seen so far.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

so where is the island gonna be? aint it gonna be expensive to get to?  The Ranch would be more plausible.  BUT, if this is a legit thing, your gonna have problems.

Up keep is gonna be a big thing.  You cant expect people to pick up after themselves, cuz their not. it will be Litter Island.

Keeping it Drug free would be a plus. You cant have Methalos running wild. Weed is an exception though.

Violence would be a factor.

Just like everyday folk, there are different types of Juggalos. You have kind generous ones, and you have the assholes, and the cocky "ive been down longer than you" ones.

wishful thinking, but good luck.

I'll fuck you till you love me, Faggot!

There are all kinds of glaring problems with this.....Unless it's gonna be a lord of the flies or gilligans island deal where you are living off of the land and have no health care, electricity or running water. In which case everyone will be dead in two months lol. It would be cool if this comes into fruition. best of luck to all involved

@sean-law  and @slumerican502 obviously spoke without even going to the link. lol.  The place they're looking at is in Indiana, has 128 RV spots already ready, housing on-site, and equipment to maintain the land.  This isn't an "island", but was inspired by the idea of "Juggalo Island".  I'm not skeptical of Darren's intentions, but do think it's a long shot.  I threw in 10 bucks and bought the http://www.juggaloisland.net URL, so if that's all I'm out, I'm OK with that.

@scottied    yea your right. I didn't read it. lol.  but regardless if its and island, or land, I just don't see it working out. Not to shit in anybodys cornflakes or nothing, but I just don't see it happening.  wishful thinking though. It would be chaos.

I am going to be optimistic about this. They have a forum site that is accessible once you are a shareholder. On there they have shareholders from many different backgrounds... groundskeeping, legal, law enforcement, etc. I threw in. $2 is not a lot for one share. Now you can (and I assume there are those that have) buy more than one share. Those buying multiple shares mean that less will be required to hit the goal.

I am still playing catch up, but about 2,000 shares are owned by about 150 people or so. We are averaging close to a dollar per like on our facebook page. I believe with publicity and finding enough Juggalo's, we could raise that money easily in a year or less. At our current rate, it would take about 14 years, sooner than has happened so far. With the average shares, we need 75,472 Juggalos. But as this progresses the numbers will meet in the middle and we will likely find the right property, and the right price, with the right amount of homies.
