I think the biggest problem today is "morals" are politically driven by the government and the media and there are too many lemmings believing EVERYTHING they hear from said sources. Both sides of the spectrum have become intolerant towards eachother. I am expecting a 3 way war (Hobbit Return of the King style Hobbit reference) between Evangelical Whites, Christian minorities and LGBT/Atheist rights movements in DC pretty soon.
The world as a whole has become intolerant and we avoid those we don't agree with like they are lepers. As human beings we fail to remember that there are good and bad people from every race, creed , country , religion and sexual preference out there and it is up to decent people to stand up for what is truly right and wrong and toss aside personal opinions because basic personal preferences ARE NOT morals they are just that.
A Christian praying doesn't effect anyone unless they let it. A homosexual living their preferred lifestyle effects no one but them and the person they are involved with. So why do we as human beings feel it is our right to judge personal preferences as if they were basic morals?
We ALL know what is right and wrong for the most part. Your choices are what makes you who you are whether it be a decent person or a piece of shit, but preference choices that effect no one but you should never determine how people label you. Your basic sense of morality and decency on a HUMANE level should be that meter.

All of this is pretty much spot on but i'd disagree on that part. I'd argue that the world(well a good chunk of it anyways) is becoming much more tolerant as time goes by. We have come a long way as far as human rights. Woman aren't property anymore. We have a black president and now gay people are feeling like they don't have to hide anymore.
When I was in high school there were literally only 2-5 openly gay students that I knew about. Like I just happen to live in a magic spot where there were no gay people. High school is a very harsh fucking place and they shouldn't have to feel like they gotta hide that shit.
How do yall feel about the whole bathroom talk going on? Should Transgenders or any other variation(i can't keep up anymore) have their own bathrooms or should they be allowed to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with?
I feel like they need their own bathrooms. I wouldn't be comfortable with a man who thinks hes a woman going into a public bathroom with my 11 year old daughter, and I think many people feel the same way. I'm sure a good majority just wanna piss/shit, but there are some sick mother fuckers out there, let's not kid ourselves.... I see arguments on this online and if you feel like I do you get shamed and guilt tripped.
I'm not ashamed of the way I feel and I won't apologize for it. Ever. Nobody should. It's good that we are having this dialogue as a collective though.

Maybe this will be handled state by state. Since stem cell therapy clinics exist in certain countries and not others, maybe trans/etc. issues will be handled in the same way. Wonder what the big deal will be in a few decades. Maybe we'll get lucky as a species and benevolent aliens will show up and scare the bitches straight.

I wonder what's happening there from an evolutionary standpoint. Is it natures way of weeding out bad genes by making sure these people don't procreate? It goes against the very idea of life on a grand scale being a transgender if the purpose of everything is trying to reproduce. I do understand that there could be any combination of biological and environmental factors that could trigger someones brain to identify as something that they just aren't. I wonder what happens there from a scientific point of view.

It's all bullshit though. Most of the people who want to make a big deal out of this issue will never actually interact with a real live transgender person, and what bathroom transgender people are going to use is going to affect almost nobody. This is not a major public policy issue that needs to be addressed. The whole thing is just a way of letting people make a statement about what side they're on- do you hate fags and weirdos and want to express your disapproval of them? Or, do you hate the people who get hard ons about the idea of expressing their disapproval of fags and weirdos?

Trans could still reproduce in many ways. Science is innovative,

even making it possible to make sperm from bone marrow. Theoretically, two women might be able to make a baby using stem cells, with no man involved. Interesting stuff.

Or do you live in an area like I did (downtown Orlando) with a huge tourist trade and an army of trans storming downtown at all hours? Granted, not the usual case, but it's still an issue for some places, if only an economic one not wanting to scare away tourists.

On a personal note? I think the whole transgender wanting to use the bathroom of their "gender identity" is a crock of shit. Not that I am against transgender but I don't want them being able to use the bathroom in the same bathroom as my daughter if they still have a ding dong.
As a parent I wouldn't want me or my wife to have to explain to my underage daughter why "that lady stands up to pee" and don't for a second tell me that wont happen because there wont be urinals. All they have to do is see a glance of shoes FACING the toilet under that 1-2 foot gap between the floor and the stall bottom. It is simply a conversation a kid should never have to have before high school. HOWEVER I will avoid such situations with my children if I can.

youd be less creeped out, then, by the alternative: havin the 'lady' using the mens room with you? then, itd be 'her' doin the glancing... personally, id find that creepier.
also, why would the 'lady' pee standing up? ida thought thats literally the first thing youd have to NOT do, to act like a woman.

uh, what percentage of these sickos are cross-gendered, or whatever? probably not significantly more than the overall population.
plus, lets not forget... sick mother fuckers [specifically meaning, people who target kids], whatever their orientation, are after all, ya know, sickos. they arent gonna stop bein extremely fucked up just cuz someone tells em theyre in the wrong bathroom. that shit wouldnt even register to them.

That is IF they truly identify as such. How would you guarantee a 100% success on that identification front by the authorities? Who will be the deciding body that decides the difference between a true woman in a mans body (or visa versa) and just some weirdo that dresses like a woman and is really straight?
Also to be honest YES, I would rather deal with it then have my daughter dealing with it or my wife. That is called being a man and protecting your family and also I don't have the curiosity of a 4 year old.

well, pissing standing up would be a very obvious cue.
Who will be the deciding body that decides the difference between a true woman in a mans body (or visa versa) and just some weirdo that dresses like a woman and is really straight?
who decided it yesterday? last year? three hundred years ago?
do we need an official skirt-checker now? if so... why? to cut down even further on privacy?

they gotta live in the world, too.
or is it that only the men are able to deal with it [not based on what ive seen], and thus the default is, 'send em all to the mens room'? four year olds in there, too.

Since there is an attempt for it to be legalized nationwide now we absolutely need a "skirt checker". You up for it? I bet being a government job it pays high.
On a serious note I get your point but I do disagree it WILL have to be regulated especially in schools and such and places children frequent. How they regulate it is up to the government which has failed on nearly everything in the last 16 years.
Also when was the issue ever raised in the last 300 years even near as seriously as it is now? This is obviously a mental condition that makes people identify as such and although it should not be treated as an illness it should be verified the same way as any other chemical or differential issue in a persons hormones/genes/brain like ADHD,Bi-polar,ODD,Anxiety, and other conditions that make people how they are. The most important thing is to make sure we protect people while still not alienating these human beings from society entirely like they were 20 or less years ago even.
Native Americans have to have a CIB to get tax free tobacco and other things.
Minorities have to prove their lineage (if not obvious) for college benefits.
Kids have to bring shot records to get into school.
People take piss tests and swabs for jobs.
Why is a 5 minute mental evaluation/conversation such a hardship to be able to use the opposite restroom the rest of your life? I go through more just to get a plane ticket.
EDIT: I love discussions like these you all have very insightful points of views and questions and opinions on the subject. So great to know so many family members come from all different backgrounds but are brought here by the love of music.

im not even sure if i have a point. you raised questions, i was mostly raisin the questions that those questions raised, and all this crap and much more is probably gonna have to get sorted out, to even make half the world happy enough to yack about sumn else for a while.
discussion and speculation.
Also when was the issue ever raised in the last 300 years even near as seriously as it is now?
i dont follow the subject, couldnt tell ya. but people have been around a long time, im sure shit like this has come up before. everything has.

dunno bout that. sounds iffy.
id guess that only those who live it, could tell ya. way too subjective.
The most important thing is to make sure we protect people while still not alienating these human beings from society entirely like they were 20 or less years ago even.
okay, this isnt speculative.
however... i just wanna add, we dont wanna go overboard with the 'protect' and 'not alienating' parts. [example: spending god knows how much money to remodel every set of public bathrooms into a trifecta; not sure which category that falls into, either]
Why is a 5 minute mental evaluation/conversation such a hardship to be able to use the opposite restroom the rest of your life? I go through more just to get a plane ticket.
a 5-minute evaluation isnt gonna tell anybody anything about anyone. cold readers take more time than that.
a lot of that stuff you listed is also crap; i wouldnt use it to justify anything more, even if it wasnt more crap.

No, at 4 she shouldn't be using the bathroom by herself in the first place, but you said it's something she shouldn't learn until highschool. I learned at 8 or 9 through other kids.

When a 4 year has to go they have to go and the parent has to take them. Doesn't mean she doesn't see stuff in there whether my wife or I am there or not.
Realistically we know about sex WAY before we should. I mean I lost my virginity at 13 by lying to some high schooler about my age. Been there done that doesn't mean I think it was right now that I am an adult. I just don't think anyone is emotionally stable enough for sex/relationships before high school...Hell, I have been married 5 years and I feel like I am not emotionally ready for this shit half the time lol.
But as you insinuated it is going to happen most of the time whether we want it or not. It just sucks. I still feel like a child myself sometimes and my biggest fear is not being there to protect my kids when they need it and them experiencing something they should not before they are ready.
HOWEVER I am not delusional. Just because I THINK they should not know before high school does not mean it wont happen as I am not the sheltering fairy with a magic wand or some shit. It still scares the shit out of me.

I don't think there is anything wrong with how early we typically learn, I just think it rightfully makes us uncomfortable to think about kids knowing. I mean, you shouldn't try to overly shelter them because sheltering is probably worse than them learning it in the way they learn, but if it didn't make you feel uncomfortable I wouldn't want you raising a kid in the first place. If that makes any sense.

hey, just keep in mind two things about kids: they are always more perceptive than adults think they are [or remember being, themselves], and theyre usually tougher than adults give them credit for.

makes sense. people just dont wanna be uncomfortable [very natural], and some of them wanna make being uncomfortable a matter of legislation [very unnatural; nature doesnt care much about legislation].
