I gotta disagree about Johnny Cash doing Hurt. I feel it was a great attempt done at the most appropriate time in his career. Or end of, if you will. For that i give him mad props. I feel he put more emotion into it and meant it all, but NIN nailed it the first go round.
No disagreements about Trent's composition. I love both.
And I love that both versions made it into the otherwise lackluster Hangover 3 film. Made it better.

Remix, Re-do's or Mash up's?
This thread has branched out and is trying to claim re-do's and mash ups as remixes. Each is totally different and serves a different purpose, musically.
Here are some examples so ninjas can know the difference..
MASH UP
(Usually mixing vocals and instrumentals from two different musical genre's.. Most likely Hip Hop and rock)
RE DO's *Remakes
(Paying homage to a former artist, Re-Recording original versions of songs for better fidelity)
OG
Re-Do
Remake
REMIX
(Adding/omitting artist to a former song, New production behind original lyrics, always in some way still attached to the original song being remixed. Blends would also fall under this.)
