Very true, self love is typically connected to the love you receive as well. So if you're loved prior to needing to go into survival mode, you're more likely to love yourself enough to go into survival mode.
Edit: And Krunk's Keanu quote moved us from the adult table to the middle school lunch room with the socially awkward anime fans.

I have a book called Desperate Journeys and Abandoned Souls that details many stories of people marooned. Mainly like 1600-1800.
There are all kinds of different variables of stories and situations. Some are stranded alone, some with others.
Some come upon native tribes and taken in. Some are just cannibalized.
Some of em had families to get back to and others don't.
The common thread between all of em, is the ones that were marooned alone were fucked up for the rest of their lives. One dude dug a cave in his backyard because he missed his cave on the island.
I think we can all agree that isolation is fucking terrible for you no matter how you cut it. It might affect everyone differently though.

Pure isolation is just extremely unhealthy. I prefer being isolated most of the time, but couldn't live purely in isolation as much as I wish I could.
