Anyone hear about this yet? Apparently it hit with the force of a nuclear warhead, injuring 1,100 people. I would love to have witnessed it first hand….

I was waiting for good video footage to see beforehand smile

Right now I'm looking up OUR news from last week that said a meteor would pass by earth without contact…..and couldn't help but think since it was headed for Russia we never gave any warnings on OUR news. I'm digging in the intranet to see now if that's the same rock. cool

as of a few hours ago, split opinions in the astronomical community, tending toward 'unrelated'.  they didnt think it couldve been the exact same rock, but possibly a fragment from the asteroid.

Hmmm….crazy shit right there. Hopefully some outside astronomer followed and recorded it to clear this up.

That's crazy. I've seen a few videos of this. Would've been a sight to see that's for sure.

not related, due to highly seperated trajectories.  basicly, they came from different directions.  appparently, cpa on that asteroid [da14] was about ninety minutes ago.  i think.

bollides are the shit.  i mean, when they dont injure you, theyre the shit.  i saw one when i was camping as a kid.  waaay smaller than this one, though.

Thanks for the update, Scruffy. All I found were a bunch of scientists arguing more than we do laugh

so, theres this impact crater in arizona, imaginatively named 'meteor crater'.  its a gigantic hole blasted into the desert, really impressive to look at.  check it out if you get the chance.

anyway, now im reading that there are about 25 or 30 craters in the world that are fifteen miles across, or larger.  the largest is 180 miles wide [and a couple billion years old].

for comparison, meteor crater is a puny 3/4 of a mile… and very recent, only fifty thousand years old.

I lived in Arizona as a kid and definitely saw that at a young age. Same with the Grand Canyon. Where I'm from in Alberta has a similar grand canyon in their badlands. Calgary has mountains on the west of it but desert badlands to the east….strange as shit….big gaping whole from a meteor as well..

Just saw this on OUR news…..they're quick to jump on the badwagon, I tell ya….

Video Link don't work outside of my country…go figure….GOOGLE:
