It doesn’t matter what kind of music one listens to. ICP, Esham, Eminem, Slipknot & Rob Zombie to Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne & Miley Cyrus. If it brings you joy & helps you keep goin in life & motivates you & keeps you out of trouble, then it is a positive thing. Music is a positive thing. Even the music that you don’t like, because when you hear it, it makes you appreciate the music that you do like even more. I work at Sonic & have to hear pop songs all day long, so when I get out & get to listen to the music I like, it makes me appreciate it all the more. So it may sound weird, but I appreciate the fact that their is music I don’t like out there & that from time to time I have no choice but to listen to it, because it makes me appreciate the music I do like. It reminds me of why I listen to what I do listen to. So stop dissing shit you don’t like, because that shit is keeping someone going, & that’s a beautiful thing!

I deff relate to the work thing. I swear i fucking hear that “i’ve been to the year 3000” song 3000 fucking times a work day and im so ready to smash all our speakers by the time im off work, then i turn on opaque brotherhood and every track sounds so much better

Play “Straight to Hell” by Hank III. Or better yet, “Im So Lonesome I Could Cry” by the original Hank Williams. The simple lyrics of the latter combined with the bare bones guitar and the real dismay you hear in that hick’s voice make for a track so classic that it becomes genreless, leaving “country” in the fucking dust.
