Anybody play? I know USA players can't play online (most places) after the big scandal, but if you do, what's your game and where do you go for action?

I've been up since last night chasing my favorite fish around before he goes on vacation for a few weeks. Played in a decent tournament that started last night at 11 and ran all the way to 5, I pissed in an empty juice container because I didn't want to risk not making it to the final table and I made it. I've pissed in all sorts of containers/buckets over the years. It's fucking 9 am now and I'm still going. Cash tables not the same tourneys.

Anybody play Pokerstars outside of the US? We should have a friendly small buy-in game for bragging rights on the forum. cool

online?  no chance.

but i have tried to get a regular game going.  many times, over the years, in fact.  the usual problem is, no one is willing to put money on the table in front of me more than once.

given that, i generally like to fill a table up with suckers who cant count, dont understand odds, and/or arent friends of mine.  then we bust em out, and send them on their way.

same thing with craps, betting on football, etc.  i know im only gonna get the one shot, so i clip em.

among friends, we gamble on all sorts of dumb shit.  but we dont want to piss eachother off, so we keep the stakes humble.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

I can't even get a home game going anymore with friends to have fun and a few drinks. I'll even play terrible just to make it happen but no ones down anymore. There are 3 casinos by me so I just go there now whenever I'm not playing online, but they cut me off booze a lot because I like to shit talk at the tables.

No casinos or private clubs around you?

i hate casinos.  theyre only there to vacuum up money.

not that i blame them, but, like i said, i want to be the guy burning the suckers, not be one of the suckers.

I find the opposite. More fish and straight up idiots that want to impress the girls so they'll go play some poker. It shouldn't take more than a week to spot the regulars that are sucking up most of the money. Just avoid them and if your games good, they'll do the same. Watch them tho, and you'll be able to pick them apart after awhile.

A lot of my US poker friends can still play here.   http://www.bovada.lv/  and a few other spots.

Deposit via Pre-paid mastercard or visa and withdraw through Moneybookers or any money transfer sites they accept. Shows up as that money transfer site on your bank notes and that's all. Perfectly legal.

i meant casinos in general.

far as the poker tables, mostly seems like theres too many cats that are more dedicated than i am.  some of them are real sharps, the competition is too chancy.

i like to tilt the field in my favor.

shit, id prefer to just steal the money outright, but really i wont do that anymore.  risk vs reward.

I'd have to go across state line to go to a casino. It's perfectly fine to bet on horses, but cards? that's blasphemous. Silly fucking politicians.

Yea, casinos are traps. Poker is the only game the house doesn't have the edge. It's a skilled game and they don't give a fuck who wins because the rake is always the same. If you aren't dedicated you will never be a regular. The beauty of the casino is if you get a bad beat against a donk, you can catch him outside when he's going to his car cool.....can't do that online

@slum - I know what you mean. A game of skill is illegal but random luck isn't? I think the politicians are just waiting to pass state laws to legalize state online gambling. They don't want you to lose play your money unless it's with them. Fuck em....go to that site i posted and sign up. Deposit small amount and get the sign up bonus if you REALLY want to play. You lose, i tell ya what...i'll transfer you a few bucks to try again.

I went to the casino over christmas, for a business lunch with a supplier and i walked through the casino and all i could smell was death, urine and sweat.

I dont get how people can go to teh casino so much. the place is nasty. the casino in perth still smells like stale ass cigerettes too. even though smoking inside public buildings ahs been banned for like 7 years.

Shit, I figured from your first post you played.

Poker isn't gambling. The casino is full with games of chance, but poker is the only game of skill they offer.

Some might debate that blackjack can be a game of skill, but without a huge bankroll, it isn't.

the only way you could assume black jack is a game of skill is if you have the skill to count cards.

and then its just fleecing casinos for money.

i agree poker is a gamer of skill, but with all other games, knowing when to walk away is not skill, its about chance.

i was a blackjack dealer for a year...there is some skill involved...not much but you have to know how to play the game right..when the best time to hit or split...what you should hit when the dealer is showing 6 or less...so yes there is some skill...

That's it right there. Even with the knowledge of that, the odds still favor the dealer. I don't know how many times I split aces when the dealer was showing a small card and I lost both hands.
