I don't think this a pissin' contest of who had what the worst, OMD.
As stated above, people didn't know how addictive pain killers were. Combine that with the doctors prescribing them for any little thing and the people you allegedly have ZERO sympathy for are created.
I had a tooth pulled and they gave me some vicodin. I took them until all were gone and then a day or two later at work I was irritable, sweating and just didn't feel right. One of my coworkers, a pill head, told me I was Dope Sick.
That shit blew my mind and made me realize just how damn powerful and addictive scripts are.
Ofcourse everyone is different, but to just condemn everyone addicted is wild. I guarantee you most of the addicts want to kick the habit, but just like with alcoholism, its probably detrimental to their health to go cold Turkey.
So what's the solution?

I have a friend that's battled with addiction. When he was in high school his dad killed his step mom and for a long time the kids in school used to make fun of him for it. The extreme trauma he faced from both the murder and the abuse had triggered schizophrenia and one day he just started having hallucinations. He jumped into addiction heavy not just as a crutch for what he has to deal with every single day but because the people he grew up around were doing it. He's done some shady shit to a lot of people but has gotten clean for a while and everybody he's ever fucked over has forgiven him because they are sympathetic to his battles with PTSD, Schizophrenia and addiction.
Yet you're to petty to show any kind of sympathy towards people that battle addiction because you got fucked over a few times by addicts, as I'm sure most of us on this forum have.
Yeah, maybe we need to rethink who should grow up.

Jesus, that sounds like a horrible school. There was bullying at my school, but no one would have made fun of a kid whose family had died.

I dont know if you've read any of my many stories on here (I got a lot) . But BOTH of my brothers were schizophrenics. My half-brother Beau was abused in ways that i wont make public on here. But he died in 2013 from a sustained head injury from his service in Afghanistan.
My brother from own mother was also schizophrenic. He was killed in North Carolina in 2007.
You had seriously better knock off this "holier-than-thou" approach and just let someone who is hurting to just free flow his ideas. Stop judging me, man. I'm a great person, and you probably are, too
