The only reference I can find in the entire official transcripts is after one of the times Trump brought up Hunter. Joe started talking about his son's (didn't name which one) military service. And Trump responded "Really? You talking about Hunter? Are you talking about Hunter?" Biden said " I’m talking about my son, Beau Biden". Trump then said, "I don’t know Beau. I know Hunter. Hunter got thrown out of the military. He was thrown out, dishonorably discharged for cocaine use."
I couldn't find anywhere he "talked shit" about Beau.

I am not sure where Trump got the "dishonorably discharged" from. The only thing publicly available because of the Privacy Act is that Hunter Biden was given an "administrative discharge". That includes everything from honorably to dishonorably discharged. The discharge was not technically for cocaine use but for testing positive for cocaine in a drug test. ... Semantics.
Actually watching and listening to it is different. Its in the context of what he does and does not say. I know you are a technical person by your own admission, so it may be hard for you to understand, but I'm from New York (same as Trump, despite him being urban and me rural), and I know when someone is talking aggressive shit. Trump was verbally attacking him on a crazy level, trying to hit him in his weak emotional spots. Joe somehow rose above them disses and stayed humble and thoughtful by reaffirming his love for his son and not getting angry. Which I actually don't like... in a more honest world, Joe should have killed him right then and there. Some things you just don't attempt. But I know both of those guys have millions of people they're trying to impress, for better or worse. I respect your intelligence, but I will not fold on this one. He was simultaneously attacking Biden's sons, and that is just as bad as me saying all Trump's supporters kids should die. I believe in equality when shit gets raw.

Trump's purpose was to agitate Joe in that debate but I don't think he accomplished it to the level he was hoping for. I think the next debate will be a slightly different focus. I don't think Trump will attempt the agitation angle as much. I think (my personal opinion) that Trump's campaign managers will attempt to push Trump to take a different tactic. Will that work? Probably not. Trump doesn't prepare for debates. He just wings it and once he is on stage, nothing that his campaign managers have directed matter.
Many people have blamed Chris Wallace. While I do not like Wallace, there was nothing more he could have done to mitigate the behavior. The future debates may be a little different since the Debate Commission is giving the moderators the ability to mute the mics of the opponents while the other opponent is in their 2 minutes for the remaining debates. Will that work? I don't know.
The VP debates will most likely be different. Pence is not as much of a bully as Trump is at the podium. I don't care too much for Pence. I am a Trump fan - not because he is in anyway presidential, but because he is absolutely NOT presidential.
One thing I've heard, but I have not verified, Jorgensen's website crashed during the debates. Seems a lot of people jumped to see what the Libertarian candidate is about.
While I am not voting Libertarian, her ideas are not completely out of line with many of mine. Jorgensen supports a free-market healthcare and opposes single-payer healthcare. She supports replacing the Social Security system with individual retirement accounts. She opposes federal civil asset forfeiture. She is also against foreign aid. While her ideas are primarily textbook Libertarian, some of her platform ideas are things that I don't think America is ready for at this time.
One thing that she is for that you may like is her take on the war on drugs. She supports abolishing drug laws, promising to pardon all nonviolent drug offenders. I am fine with the pardoning of non-violent drug offenders but I think it needs to be on a case by case basis (not sure how to efficiently enact that). Some non-violent drug offense cases also involve burglary or theft.

I did a little research on the Presidential Debate moderator for the 2nd round. Steve Scully. Wow. He was an intern for a senator. Wouldn't that make him a little bias?

The whole liking Trump for not being presidential is why a lot of us enjoy Bernie Sanders.
I actually get behind a lot of libertarian ideals. Gary Johnson was my second choice last round for president.
Of course I follow the drug legality beliefs of Libertarians, but I'm far from a one-issue voter. For instance, Nebraska very recently attempted to legalize cannabis medically (not recreationally), but it did not pass, yet again. That socks. I wish that everything could be legalized for cannabis, morally, but financially it still helps our store and my job out immensely that Nebraska is still illegal. Nebraska can sometimes be up to half of our customers some days. They are a big part of our traffic. So it doesn't really bother me that cannabis isn't federal legal yet.
But it does morally. There is no reason why non violent cannabis inmates should still be in prison, and i also agree that it should be a case by case basis.
On that note, putting an end to this prison filled process in this country is an obvious issue that needs immediate attention. Student debt, police corruption, reproductive rights, minority and gender rights.. I'm mostly liberal about those issues. I do agree with the death penalty, once again as a case by case basis. And it should be cheap and hasty. I'm a pretty wicked dude... I actually believe that 100% proven fucks like child molesters and serial killers should actually be allowed to be dealt with by surviving families... everything from torture to death, to experimentation and organ harvesting.
Bernie would have done much better during the debate than Joe, that much is certain. But ah well.

That is a possibility I never thought about.
Either way, if I was on the commission for picking the moderators for the debates, I would never pick someone who was once an intern for one of the candidates.

Keep your goal in mind if that is what you truly want. Since you seem to be talking about money, play it safe, play it legit.
