Currently sitting atop a balcony on Bourbon street, enjoying some crawfish etouffee with an associate. I'm trying to hone in on one sound since the humid air is littered with multiple bands from these clubs/bars all at once. The smell of food is orgasmic. It's about dusk so all the lights are starting to flicker on and reflect off the puddles of rain left over from earlier. Typical summer weather.

My beverage of choice tonight is Brown Ale, straight out the bottle. Nothing but a sea of heads walking in all directions, you can spot the tourist by the Mardi Gras beads around their necks, lol. Its all good. They smiling, taking it all in.

Multiple promoters are outside soliciting people walking by to come see their clubs strippers, some enter, some keep walking. The street performers are in full force tonight doing magic, posing, doing back flips, playing drums on white buckets...what ever to make a buck.

I have a cousin playing a venue tonight at 11, hes from out of town (Texas), so I have to slow down drinking and eat a little something because he and his band want to make the rounds after. They'll probably wrap up at one, but there's no last call down here, so one it is.

The misses is out with some of her old college friends tonight, so it's whatever.

I'm about to go hook up with some other people by the river walk and smoke, then hit the casino before the band comes on to kill some time.

This is definitely a good read. Sets a scene, describes the mood, and has depth. Also if you read between the lines of some of karacallas posts there is plenty of wit, wisdom, and clever ways of describing things. Theres def some untapped talent there. Reminds me of kreeper some.

Those religious fanatics are always around trying to stir up trouble. They are one notch underneath those West Boro Baptist lunatics who protest military funerals. They come down from their ultra conservative places of the country and usually end up getting ran out of the city pretty quick. Like the video you posted, what ever group of people they are hating on that day will fake being shoved or assaulted by them, then the cops corral the hate group off to Orleans Parish Prison where I highly doubt they continue their ignorance.

Bourbon street, believe it or not, is diveded in half. One for the traditional people and the other for the more "Festive" folks. Although its not a lifestyle preferred by myself, I like most people down here, say live and let live.

It, like a lot of things, are truly embedded in our melting pot of a culture. We even have drag queen rappers who are celebrated by both sides of the isle and have their own TV show on the same network as ICP did (Big Freeda/Fuse).

Anything goes down here so we are pretty desensitized to a lot of things. It's like the gathering every other night. Be who you are, do what you want type of atmosphere. No one cares. They don't call it "The Big Easy" for nothing.

That's what I'm dealing with rite now. Good thing I'm about a block away from my house, now let me take my tipsy ass on inside. I won $120 at the casino, but the misses doesn't have to know about that.
