YouTube Video "No Good Bastards" - Tom MacDonald, Nova Rockafeller & Brandon Hart
P.S.
Here's the uncensored lyric video to go with the self-censored cashgrab from above (real badasses can scream "ass" in their videos, kids):

I don't like Tom Macdonald's music at all (save one song that's pretty catchy), BUT I have to commend him on his marketing strategy. He is using the outrage from people on both sides of the aisle in order to increase plays and ad revenue. His fans obviously are watching/listening, then people who AGREE with the sentiment are watching because they think he's speaking truth, and finally, people who VEHEMENTLY disagree are STILL watching the videos in order to comment about how out of touch and off base he is.
He's done this for like 4 years with every better and libs haven't realized that they just shouldn't watch him if they think he's full of shit. Dude's a marketing genius for that. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't agree with half of the shit in his songs. Props, Tom.
I've been listening to Leenalchi a lot lately. They're a cross-genre group that takes Korean folk singing and fuses it with rock/rap etc.
Sounds a bit weird at first but is really catchy if you give it a chance. This one reminds me of a Strawberry Alarm Clock instrumental

This is all obvious and we've been over it before. I am like Noah in that Tom is so brazenly faux "outlandish" that it is almost impossible to turn away. So he will always win in that respect. However, one of the big twists is that one HAS to actually listen/watch his stuff or else we would be basing our opinions on almost nothing. It's hard but it is the honest approach.
The thing that troubles me are his YouTube comments. 99% are people of all races and genders commending this goon for "finally speaking THAT REAL TRUTH" kind of shit.
Unfortunately the years I've been living in the rural Midwest has shown me that most of the white people I've met only let themselves like white rap/rappers. Like when I play some easy coast old school hip hop they all but roll their eyes. Good news: when I would bump my dispensary Playlist they couldn't help but enjoy some of the shit after awhile. Some music just cannot be denied, even if the rapper doesn't have the same skin tone as them.
It just seems like the only rap my coworkers like is mumble rap, MGK, Tom Macdonald, Chris Webby, Yelawolf. They definitely aren't into clever or insightful lyrics, or else they'd be bumping white cats like Action Bronson, El-P, Aesop Rock, etc.
My one coworker with a decently open mind (got him into beats a lot like J Dilla, Just Blaze and DJ Premier, among other great rappers like Kurious and MF Doom) tried his best to get me into Chris Webby. I didn't mind this:
But something was always off about the guy. I couldn't put my finger on it. Then he released this and it all made sense... all these anti-woke whiteboys need to just form a supergroup already goddamn..
